Cold causes water to freeze, and heat causes ice (frozen water) to melt.
15 My brethren have dealt deceitfully as a brook, and as the stream of brooks they pass away;
16 Which are blackish by reason of the ice, and wherein the snow is hid:
17 What time they wax warm, they vanish: when it is hot, they are consumed out of their place.
Job 6:15-17

As water freezes the water stretches (spreads) out, and the frozen water takes up more space than the same amount of liquid water. Water expands and shrinks. Heat and cold cause water to expand and shrink.

Rain falls upon the mountains,
13 He watereth the hills from his chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works. Psalm 104:13

and the waters runs down the steep places,
16 For these things I weep; mine eye, mine eye runneth down with water, because the comforter that should relieve my soul is far from me: my children are desolate, because the enemy prevailed. Lamentations 1:16

4 And the mountains shall be molten under him, and the valleys shall be cleft, as wax before the fire, and as the waters that are poured down a steep place. Micah 1:4

and the water continually runs down,
18 Their heart cried unto the Lord, O wall of the daughter of Zion, let tears run down like a river day and night: give thyself no rest; let not the apple of thine eye cease. Lamentations 2:18

and the water runs over rocks.
10 He cutteth out rivers among the rocks; and his eye seeth every precious thing. Job 28:10 If the water is cutting out rivers among the rocks, then, the water is running over the rocks.

and the water wears rocks away,
19 The waters wear the stones: thou washest away the things which grow out of the dust of the earth; and thou destroyest the hope of man. Job 14:19

and the water washes rocks away, and rocks get cracked and broken, and water seeps down into the cracks within rocks,
15 He clave the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the great depths. Psalm 78:15

16 He brought streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers. Psalm 78:16

And the water freezes and expands, (pushes in all directions on the) inside of the rock, and the rocks get shattered (broken) to pieces,
51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; Matthew 27:51

11 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake: 1 Kings 19:11

as heat causes the water to shrink, and cold causes the water to expand.
Heat and cold cause water that is contained within rocks to expand and shrink, and the continued pressure (force) of the expanding and shrinking water within the rocks causes the cracks in the rocks to get bigger, and the rocks break apart.

Rocks that shatter and fall (roll) down the sides of mountains and hills, form piles of rock called scree.

Rocks that fall down mountains and hills can cause other rocks and stones to move, and the movements of the falling stones, rockslides, (rocks) can cause landslides, and avalanches of falling snow.
