“What is this?” grunted Harald.  “Another re-run?”

“Yes, Papa,” chirped Erik, a fair-haired, seven-year-old boy.

“And you knew it’s a re-run but you’re watching it anyway?  What is the title?”  asked his father, taking his place in a cushioned, srmed chair.  Erik hardly heeded him, being too engrossed at the opening scenes of the movie, his favorite movie.

Yes, he did know this was a re-run and they had DVD of it, too.  But that did not lessen his amazement toward the film.  In fact, Erik hardly called it a movie at all.  A legend, he referred it.

“Hey,” prodded his papa at his back.  Erik turned up and around, annoyed.

“Papa!”

“Why, I asked you a question!”

Erik turned back to face the tube.  “You see yourself, Papa!”

That was quite a wrong thing to say to your father, Harald though, and once more he poked at his boy who was sitting in front of him down on the carpet.

“That was not polite, Erik.”

The boy sighed deeply and muttered in a low voice, “It’s the Lord of the Rings, Papa.  The first of the series, the Fellowship of the Ring.”

Harald huffed self-satisfactorily.  He leant back into his chair.

“I knew it!  This is one of the movies you consider as legendary.  You are amazing, Erik.”

And this time Harald let it pass although he heard a stifled ‘So why asked?’ coming from his only child.  Harald suddenly went sober.

“Aunt Krista gave so much influence to you, didn’t she, Erik?”

Harald could feel the boy tense and got diverted for a split second from what he was watching.  Erik nodded softly and without realizing it, a tear trickled onto his cheek.
