The Fairies' Song Late at night my baby is asleep. Lights are dim above her crib. Windows mostly closed but they managed to fit. Airy, small, angel wing fairies entered her room. Their wings, soft petals, their dance in tune. Flying around each corner, spreading magic, peaceful love. They hold hands like ballerinas and open their hearts to sing a midnight lullaby, so tender, so soft only babies could hear it. I hear a whisper, and wonder if my baby needs comfort. So I entered her room and leaned over her crib. There she was dreaming of angels, and on her delicate face, the smile of a little child. Little I knew that she could still hear the fairies' song inside her dreams. To my Louriana, January 19, 2003 Mommy, Roxana Reyes Davis copyright@2003 |
