Roy Rogers, C.A.R.e join to prevent child abuse

CUMBERLAND —During the month of April, the Roy Rogers Restaurant in Downtown Cumberland sold C.A.R.e cards for $1 to help raise funds and awareness for the Cumberland Area Racers for Education of Child Abuse. C.A.R.e is a non-profit organization created in 1990 in conjunction with the Ray Welsh Cumberland Car Show to better educate children and their families on child abuse prevention.
The combined efforts of the associates and guests of Roy Rogers generated a successful donation of $525. C.A.R.e will donate the funds to the Allegany County Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect, an organization that provides child abuse prevention education through workshops, programs and resource materials to the community.

Carol Sangiovanni, coordinator for the Allegany County Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect, stated, “We were very excited to partner with Roy Rogers this year during Child Abuse Prevention Month. C.A.R.e’s main objective is to help make our community a stronger, safer place for our children and families. We appreciated all of Roy Rogers’ efforts on our behalf as well as the community’s generosity to help us get closer to our goal.”
