American Loyalist Support Page
THE LOYALISTS A Canadian schoolnet page on the loyalists with an additional page on Heroes of the War of 1812 listing loyalist Laura Secord. Naturally a little amateur, but still nice to see.

TAR & FEATHER
S An essay on the numerous but often overlooked abuses inflicted on loyalists. Aside from being tarred and feathered they suffered a long list of persecutions as this paper by Benjamin Irvin shows.

BRITISH EMPIRE LOYALISTS (CANADA
) Another school page, this one goes into a little more detail concerning the loyalists and was researched by students at Arthur Meighen High School in Manitoba, Canada

UNITED EMPIRE LOYALISTS' ASSOCIATION OF CANAD
A The modern day descendants of the loyalists who fled the revolution for safe haven in Canada. These Canadians are very proud of their ancestors and the foundation of their country and still defend the loyalist cause.

THE LOYALIST INSTITUT
E Probably the most content of any loyalist website, the Loyalist Institute has information on who the loyalists were, their historical impact as well as statistics on civilian loyalists as well as loyal American regiments in the British army and the African and First Nation loyalists as well. A must-see!

WIKIPEDIA LOYALIST ARTICL
E In general I'm not a big fan of Wikipedia, there is alot of information on alot of topics, and at least half will be accurate, but you must always be on guard since anyone with an agenda can edit the pages and misinform the public. There is a nice list of loyalist personalities at the bottom.

LOYALISTS: THE CANADIAN ENCYCLOPEDI
A As it says, this is an article from The Canadian Encyclopedia, part of the Historica Foundation of Canada. A nice little piece written by Bruce G. Wilson.

BLACK LOYALIST
S An often forgotten minority among the minority, this Canadian website documents the history of American slaves and freedmen who were loyal to the British government. Read about slaves being freed by service in the King's army and why most Black Americans were Tories.

THE LOYALISTS, U-S-HISTOR
Y A U.S. article, this one goes back quite a bit farther on the background of the loyalist mentality, starting off with the Dutch invasion of 1688. While not an entirely glowing account, it does tell how loyalists were ill-treated by the revolutionary crowd.

LOYALISTS IN GEORGI
A Tories in Dixie! This page gives the background and some statistics on the loyalist presence in the state of Georgia and lists those who had property taken by the government because of their loyalty to King George III. Includes links to similar sites & family tree info.

LOYALIST AND BRITISH SONG
S A funny but informative page on the songs and poetry of the loyalist and British forces during the American Revolution. See how witty and biting the loyalists were and what a sense of humour they had (my favorite is "The Congress"). Go ahead and sing "God Save the King!" You know you wanna......

PLAIN TRUTH: A LOYALIST PAMPHLET pd
f This little gem, written by "Candidus" is a loyalist response to that disgraceful bit of propaganda called "Common Sense" by that heathen traitor Thomas Paine (boo! hiss!). Free yourself of Paine's republican lies and listen to some good ol'Loyalist 'common sense' ;-)

LOYALIST PROPAGAND
A A little more loyalist opinion from the same author of "Plain Truth". Listen to Tory logic instead of revolutionary lies. There's also a little bit on how the loyalists were vilified after the war.

TAKE THE LOYALTY OATH A fun way of affirming your loyalty to King George and Olde England forever! Go right ahead and take the oath, like they say, it won't hurt a bit!

BANASTRE TARLETON and the BRITISH LEGION This has to be my favorite loyalist website put out by Marg Baskin who has a real thing for "Bloody Ban" who led the mostly loyalist British Legion. A ton of good stuff, an absolute riot, especially the commentaries dealing with "The Patriot" film. Marg & friends seem like real fun loyalist ladies and you havn't seen how awesome loyalists are until you visit them!

THE LOYAL AMERICAN REGIMENT This website is on a group of reenactors portraying the Loyal American Regiment of the famous Colonel Beverley Robinson during the early part of the war when they wore those great round hats and short, green coats with red facings. There is some good information besides the reenactment info on Colonel Robinson, the regiment and the loyalist presence in America and their point of view. Worth a look.

THE LOYALIST PAGES
This rather "period" style page is from the AmericanRevolution.Org website and was written by a loyalist reenactor. It contains some good information on the loyalist point of view, for the most part though it is an index of links to other loyalist pages.
