Explanation of column headings
Name: Name of observer. If the observer requested to remain anonymous then ‘Anon’ followed by a number appears instead.
Age: Age in years.
Country: Country where observed
City: City, town, or location if not in a populated area
Neighborhood: Where no neighborhood is indicated, the word Center is used
Location: Further details about the location
Date: Gregorian date
Time zone: Hours ahead of UTC
First: N means that the Moon was visible the previous day (for old Moon Last = N means that the Moon was visible the following day).
Seen: Y means that the Moon was seen with the naked eye. If no time is recorded then the time of first/last visibility was not recorded. N means that the Moon was not seen with the naked eye. If a time is recorded then the Moon was seen with binoculars.
First seen: Local time when the Moon was first observed. This is left blank if no time was recorded.
Good: Y means that an experienced observer correctly recorded the time of first visibility. N means that the observer did not see the Moon when it first appeared or was not known to be experienced enough to recorded the time of first visibility.
Bad: Y means that the Moon was not observed at least partly because the observer was looking at the wrong time and/or in the wrong direction or that the observer mistakenly claimed to have seen the Moon.
Cloud: Y means that the Moon was obscured by clouds when it should have first appeared.
(For old Moon, Rose: Y means that the Moon was seen to rise completely)
Last seen: Local time when the Moon was last observed. This is left blank if no time was recorded.
Good: Y means that an experienced observer correctly recorded the time of last visibility. N means that the observer did not see the Moon when it first appeared or was not known to be experienced enough to recorded the time of last visibility.
