Planet Dread existed as a band in Northern New Jersey from 1989 to 1998. Richly textured engaging sounds. Organic and eerie, visionary and honest. Frighteningly beautiful, beautifully frightening.

If you described them by comparing them to other bands, you might think of bands like these: Pink Floyd, Voivod, Hawkwind, Soundgarden, Black Sabbath, King Crimson.

Their only full length album, Elevader, is one of those albums that is best appreciated when listened to in its entirety, ala Voivod's Dimension Hatross, or Darkside of the Moon.
