The Red Dragon rose to power after murdering Kara Fanel and taking over the island of Koholint. From there, he built up a demon army, under the blessing of the Nightmares, and began taking his army on a crusade against the Crystal Realm. He didn't gain realmwide attention until his public assassination of Princess Laazia, but by then, it was too late for any kingdom to build up a military capable of defeating or even matching the Red Dragon's power. The Red Dragon's chief rival is Lysia, who along with her ragtag rebels, has managed to keep him out of Hyrule. Many myths and legends have risen, surrounding the Red Dragon's true identity, but only a chosen few among Lysia's survivor army know the truth. The Red Dragon will do anything to stop Lysia and the Guardians and has the power to follow them through the circuits of time. |
