Welcome to the main page for Darkmatter d20, a revival of the classic campaign setting, with a whole new set of rules.  In 1999, Wizards of the Coast announced that they would no longer make products for their Alternity role-playing system.  This included the recently-released Dark Matter campaign setting, a world revolving around conspiracies and paranormal phenomena.

While a great setting, Darkmatter had been bogged down by the clunky Alternity system, which took away from the role-playing potential in the game.  This website hopes to bring back the Darkmatter system under a new set of more role-playing focused rules, WotC's d20 system.  This same system, which is the basis of the Dungeons & Dragons and Star Wars games, lends itself to the type of setting which Darkmatter belongs to.  To use the rules on this page, a copy of the Dungeons & Dragons Player's Handbook is required, as well as a copy of the Darkmatter campaign setting.  A copy of the D&D Dungeonmaster's Guide and Monstrous Manual could come in handy, as well as the Darkmatter Arms & Equipment Guide.

This set of rules is brought to you by the people at RPCore Productions.  You can go back to their main page through this link.  Also, our fantastic header borrows art from Eric Wadley, a terrific visual artist.  You can see his page at http://www.archetypal.com/emw/index_java.htm.  We hope he doesn't mind us borrowing his images, and we'll be happy to take them down if he'd prefer.
