My Mountain
Biking Page
A couple of weeks ago,
I bought a 1998 Bianchi Lynx SX mountain bike, and I just got so involved
in biking. I'm still a beginner, and I've been reading a lot in this sport,
and practicing a lot on the trails. In March 21, 1999, I will be competing
in the Beginner's Class at the Western Oklahoma Mountain Bike Classic in
Elk City, OK.
I've been training roughly 4-5 times a week for this, mainly by riding from Southwest Blvd to 71 street <roughly 6 miles> and back <total of about 12 miles>. The race itself is 11 miles long and it takes an average of 1 hour and 15 minutes during racing conditions. I've been doing these 12 miles in a little bit over an hour, so I hope to stay competitive. I will have photos soon from that race posted. Wish me lots of luck!
UPDATE : 3/27/99
That was the toughest thing I ever did. I went on the pre-ride, and it literally killed me. There was no way I could have finished the race. I wasn't ready for it. I crashed so many times, got a flat, and messed up my handle bars. I even tored up my pants...<from the TREES > LOL. So my apologies for no photos. I'm hoping to gain more experience and then race at the end of the summer. Thank you!!!
