| 23 State Party Organizations offer hope to America And we are still growing ! It has been an eventful time in the life of the Reform Party since its inception in 1997. State Party organizations have developed and stayed strong while others were created as nothing more that paper tigers to which they have fallen along the wayside. There coming upon us a national election in only 400 days or so and we are only just now cleaning out the problems we have faced within our own structure. We have seen State Party Organizations rejected for nothing more than a popularity contest and have seen whole state party organizations rejected by the National Committee simply because they might not like the person who was sent to represent them. These will be things of the past if all goes well over the next two or three months. There are currently 23 State Party Organizations in existence throughout the country and there are still hundreds of former leaders following the events of Tallahassee and the latest lawsuit results. As many of you already know and more will find out as you read along, the small group of individuals who attempted to hi-jack the party went down in defeat in U.S. FEDERAL DISTRICT COURT by a jury who took into account the whole picture and determined where the right of it was. With this now behind us, it is time to start thinking of the future of each state party organization and each district within the state party organization, each county and each municipality. We must take a look at what is going to be needed in the next 400 days and determine what each of you must do in order to make a statement, make a contribution or run a candidate in the next election. What has to happen starting this month. The first thing to do is start calling your friends and neighbors, those whom you know are unhappy with the directions your state and federal government has been leading the population. You have to decide whether the " NewWorld Order " will be the best approach for each of you or whether it is better to come back around to the constitution of the United States with its built in bill of rights for each one of us. You have to decide if corporate America is the friend they portray themselves to be or whether they are simply selling a concept while they water down the very laws put into place to protect each and every citizen of this country. You have to decide if the lack of movement on the illegal immigration issue by the federal government is in the best interest of the workers of this country, whether the trade agreements allowing our basic manufacturing to be slipped right out from us without a single hue or cry from our elected representatives. These are the issues you first must resolve before you finally decide to take the next step. WE ARE FACING the new Communist Party version, US style whereby we pay for the all the perks and get little if any of the benefits. We look to the dumbing down of America through the public school systems and ask ourselves if this is the best we can do. After we do our contacting, it is time to start looking for candidates who you know will represent you properly in your local regional, state and federal districts. It is only in this way will the tide turn for the best. It is only in this way will be see a turn-a-round in the constitutional authority from erosion to support. Each of you has the opportunity to make a difference and each of you can make that difference. The national reform party is currently prohibited from collecting donations until a debt from the 2000 convention committee is paid off. This, in no way affects what a state party organization or a regional Reform Party organization can do. I encourage each local town / city Reform Party organization to open up their own accounts, generate their own donations and build their own organization from the bottom up like it was always meant to be. I encourage each of you to have the resident experts developed who know the local and state laws, know the procedures for running candidates and to understand the petitioning process. Through these arena, your local organizations can grow, making the county organizations stronger and making the state party organization strongest. Keep your money, guard your donations and put the dollars where it will do the most good. Do not squander it with simply sending a check without checking for results. You wouldn ' t do it with your own dollars, would you? Apply it in the same manner when it comes to the donor ' s money. After all, we ' ve all seen the throwing away of the tax dollars, haven ' t we. If we do the same, we are no different. I also urge you to discover the difference between a political action committee and a political party. Poltical Action committees can have a very important place in the scheme of events and we should deny ourselves an effective tool if we don ' t have to. I am telling this because the delays of the Reform Party movement have hurt our country in more ways than we ' ll ever know and yet, I believe there is still time to act and to be the success we were meant to be.
