Sleep

The real life

Eludes me

I run after illusions

Through bright light

Trying to catch

The grand illusion

That is I

The chase is long

It drains, it is a misery

It is not even pain

Pain, that neighbor of pleasure.

Yes, this chase has been long

I am tired

I want it real

I want it now

Sleep, the real life beckons

I have to just stop

Running will not get me there

It is too close for that

Just let the eyelids drop

I tell myself

Yet, I keep running

To catch myself

The grand illusion

The sleepy I.
