| Drema grew up in the Black Raven Tribe, one of the five Barbarian tribes of the far north. Her parents
are Dilluo ("I Disband"), her father, and Balo ("I Strike"), her mother, who are both warriors/hunters for the tribe. They are both strong and stern with a quiet sense of humor. Very loving, but in a minimalist way. She had an older brother, Bebaion ("Firm"), who was killed while defending the tribe as First Warrior, and who is now one of Olidammara's Ravens. She also has a younger sister, Kalo ("I Am Called") who is earnest and sweet, and very much wants to be like her older siblings, except alive, not dead. Drema was born with the usual black hair and eyes, but at her naming, when the Shaman touched her head, all of the color drained from both, leaving them silver. The Shaman either could not or would not tell her family what this portended. Drema grew up with two best friends, Ippeuo and Krisaia. At the age of thirteen, the three petitioned the council of elders to take their Rite of Adulthood together. This was granted, and the three passed, and they were each given axes by the Chief. (This is Drema's preferred weapon -- at this time it has been blessed by Olidamarra and Durgeddin, and been transformed into greater power by Jack, using components such as the tears of the dead and True Metal). Drema was in love with Ippeuo. When she realized that he and Krisaia were in love, she decided to leave and seek adventure. She left in the dead of the night, leaving only a note. After reaching the Southern lands, she met Jack in a tavern fight. They helped each other out and decided to travel together. They had one sexual encounter, but were never more than friends. Quite a while ago while exploring a forest, they were captured by Orog. They were rescued by Cailett, Tyuris and Sharna. Drake died in thatfight. Drema has been adventuring with the company since that time. She has since become a Totemic Defender for her tribe, been named First Warrior and been chosen as a Divine Emissary. She has become the Unbroken Blade. Her devotion to her Goddess and her people is unbounded. She loves Loden and her relationship with him has brought about many changes, especially since their melding of souls when they were trapped in the Witchfire. She remains undaunted in her quest to defeat Belsammath, the Gith and Arak.
· Life is humor. Life is chaos. The basic premise of the tribe. Expect and embrace change, and use humor as a seasoning to life to make it palatable. · The Lady's children protect each other. Loyalty is first to the Lady, second to the tribe, and third to the individual. You do not lie or cheat each other. · Traditions should be kept, but change is the Lady's blessing. While traditions are important, the value of personal choice dictates that traditions will change. Nothing is sacred except the Lady's will. · Personal choice is a right and privilege given by the Lady. Each person chooses their own path. · Taking away personal choice is a crime against the Lady. The individual's free will is of paramount importance. Even the choice to protect the tribe is a personal choice, albeit one that all go by. It is considered a crime against the Lady to consume unborn beings, such as eggs, or to kill the unborn, such as a deer while heavy with child, because such a thing takes away the creature’s choice. While unborn, they are helpless. A running deer has the opportunity to run right or left to get away from the hunters -- if they choose wrong, they will be killed, but they were given the choice. An unborn has been given no choice yet, and the Lady must be granted the opportunity to give them that.
