ILLEGAL IMPORTS IMPOUNDED

Reports suggest that a recent consignment of traction engines imported from Australia have been impounded. Rumours are abound that the engines did not have the correct export documentation and are currently under investigation.

END OF SEASON RUN IN GLOUCESTERSHIRE

No less than six steamers took part in the now traditional end of season run in the Gloucestershire town of Stonehouse. The engines gathered at the picturesque Fromebridge Mill and a jovial afternoon was had by all present. Engines present included a Fowler Roller, Burrell Traction Engine, a pair of Foden Wagons and a duo of MacLaren Engines. Another event is planned for the spring.

OFF ROAD VEHICLE CHARGE

It appears that owners of vehicles that are covered under the SORN regulations are to face a fee of £4.50 to register their vehicles as not being in use. The proposals are under consideration and various groups are currently addressing the proposals.

HIGHLANDER COLLISION

Sad news from the Bedfordshire Steam and Country Fair is that Fowler DN1 Roller 'Highlander' was hit my a low loader causing its front forks to snap. No one was injured in the incident but the front end of the engine was completely snap off! Work is already underway to put the engine back on the road before too long.

FOSTER WAGON MAKES TRIUMPHANT RETURN

The only surviving Foster Steam Wagon (Sir William) made an appearance at the Bedforshire Steam Fair sporting a new Chocolate brown livery and tipping body. By all accounts the engine made a fine sight.
