September 1st 2008
- The results from the August 24th RSO are online here.

The next RSO race will take place on September 20th at Christ the King track in Toronto.

The season finale (make-up date for July 20th) will take place on October 12th at Christ the King track in Toronto.


July 20th 2008
- It is raining in Toronto at this time. Today's RSO Series race is thereby cancelled. Look for, come back, and check for a possible re-scheduling of the race.

July 6th 2008
- With the postponnement of the 2nd stage in June, the 2008 RSO Outdoor Series dates have been changed and shuffled. The 2nd stage will take place in Toronto on July 20th, #3 in Harriston on August 24th, and the #4 will be in Toronto on September 20th, Click here for more.

June 13th 2008
- Due to the unstable weather expected over the weekend in Southern Ontario- especially Sunday- it has been decided to postpone the weekend’s Roller Sports Ontario Speed Series until a later date. The dates for the recheduled weekend programme will be announced later.

May 19th 2008- The first stage of the 2008 Outdoor Series was held yesterday in Aylmer, neat Ottawa. A huge thanks goes out to Gavin Thulien, to the Ottawa Speed Skating Club, and to all the volunteers including Ross Campbell who helped the event run smoothly.

May 3rd 2008- Information on the 2008 Outdoor Series has been added. Click here to read more.

April 8th 2008- The results for indoor stage #4 are now online. Thank you to everyone who participate and to everyone who volunteered their time to make this season a success.

We are in the process of sorting out the 2008 Outdoor Series dates. There are a few small conflicts to solve.

April 3rd 2008-Sunday April 6th Stage is the 4th and final competition of the Roller Sports
Ontario Indoor Points Series. Doors open at 8:30am and warm up is at 9:00am.

We hope you can come out to make the last stage of the Series the biggest in participation and the best in PB's for yourself in each of the distances.

Best three points results after stages 1,2 & 3 can be found
here for age rankings and here for overall rankings. Stage 4 will finalize the placements in all age categories. There are some very close results so far but after Stage 4 there could be some be changes! Remember we will be using your best three stage points results to decide the challenge trophies and awards.

Cash Prizes in each age category will be proportionate to the number of three or less stages you have entered - for placements 1 through 6 in the mainstream age categories. (These prizes to be distributed or mailed out later.)

Challenge Trophies and awards are presented at the end of the season for the results of the previous season. The 2007 Challenge Trophy winners are:

March 16th 2008

January 28th 2008
- The RSO Indoor Speed Series will take place this year. All four events will take place at the Scooter's Roller Palace in Mississauga, with the first event taking place this Sunday February 3rd, #2 on Sunday February 24th, #3 on Sunday March 16, and #4 on Sunday April 6th.

This an opportunity to apply your race skills learned at practices in a "not so serious" co-ed, ability based competition. At the end of the Series, skaters can qualify for Challenge Trophies & Awards plus cash prizes. Your participation and support of this Series makes it worthwhile and is sincerely appreciated!

September 3rd 2007
- The final season rankings for 2007 have been posted. You can also find the results from the 4th and final race that was held in Harriston. Click here to view some photos from the Harriston race.

Congratulations to those who qualified for trophies, awards and cash prizes this year. Cash prizes for the mainstream events will be distributed at a later date. Thank you to the volunteers who helped in the officiating - all non expense compensated, your involvement helped contribute to the success of the Series and is sincerely appreciated.

Thanks also to the Ottawa Speedskating Club, Toronto Inline Skating Club and the Northern Roller Sports - CITC people for the hosting of the stages. To everyone: thank you for your participation and support in the 2007 Series. Looking forward to seeing you in the 2008 Series!

July 10th 2007- The results from the 2nd series were posted about 10 days ago. The 3rd stage (July 29th) has been moved to Toronto- the same venue as the 2nd RSO at Christ the King's 200-meter track. Click here for information.

June 10th 2007
- The stage 1 outdoor series results have been posted. Thank you for your participation and support in the 2007 series- thanks goes out to the Ottawa Speedskating Club and the volunteers from Ottawa for helping with the officiating, set up and take down for the first stage. It was very satisfying to see everyone participating and enjoying the event.

Stage 2 will be held June 30th at Christ The King Elementary School in Etobicoke (Toronto) on a 200m very smooth track. This event will precede the RSC Canada Day Marathon and Half Marathon event to be held Sunday in Cambridge at 8.00am. This should be a great weekend of skating!

May 30th 2007
- The first race of the 2007 outdoor series is taking place this Saturday in Alymer, Quebec, just outside of Ottawa. You can make it a two event weekend by skating in the Quebec Cup's first race on Sunday June 3rd in Montreal.

The
2nd stop of the series will take place on June 30th- again, you can come and skate in the RSO on Saturday and then skate the beautiful Canada Day Marathon in Cambridge on Sunday July 1st.

April 27th 2007
- The dates for the 2007 Outdoor Speed Series will soon be posted. In the meantime, the latest news that you need to know is that the distances for the 2007 outdoor series will be the same for each stage: 1000-meter time-trial (to determine groups), 500-meter small group races, and 10km large group races.

April 5th 2007
- This note goes out to all the volunteers and the athletes and clubs who continue to support the RSO Series- your work & dedication and your support of the series is greatly appreciated and also critical to the ongoing success of the series. Thank you very much for all that you have done to support the RSO Series.

January 31st 2007
- There is a change of date for Stage 3 in February event. It will now be held on the 25th. As usual doors open at 8:30am. Registration until 9:00am and race events begin at 9:05am and finish by 11:00am.

Stage 4 will be held on Sunday March 25th as per the usual time as above. We had hoped to have one of the stages held in Ottawa but does not look like it will happen so at this time all stages will be held at Scooters in Mississauga unless otherwise notified.

December 13th 2006
- With the first race of the 2006-2007 Indoor Series less than a week away (Scooter's Roller Palace this Sunday), the information (waiver, entry form, information sheet) is available here.

Please note that RSO will NOT be holding an indoor provincial championship this year. Instead, the RSO Indoor Speed Series will serve as a qualifing event: for Ontario skaters to be eligible to skate RSC national indoor championships, they will have to compete in 2 RSO Indoor Speed Series events.


October 21st 2006
- We are sorry to inform you that regretably we have had to cancel the last of the resheduled competitions in the 2006 Outdoor series. The weather has just not cooperated and we are too late in the year to continue. The official results for the challenge trophy winners, 2nd & 3rd placements in the mainstream age & gender categories will be posted at a later date.

October 5th 2006
- The Series dates have had to be switched because of the rain cancellations. Please the the venues and dates for the final two events. The last event this past weekend was rained out.

September 27th 2006
- With two events left, we would like to thank you for supporting this series so far this year. We hope you will be able to enter one or both of the last two competitions. The Overall Results could have many changes by the time the last competition is completed. This will affect who gets the Challenge Trophy and the cash awards for the mainstream age and gender categories. Good luck everyone!

A special thanks goes out to the volunteers who officiated and 'ran' the stages held so far. With key personnel not available for some of the events, the series was still able to be held. The weather as usual managed to cause some disruption!

September 23rd 2006
- Tomorrow's RSO race is postponed because the weather forecast is not good. The event will be held NEXT Sunday, October 1st. Place and time are be the same: 200m banked track at the Canadian Inline Training Centre, Harriston Ontario. The final RSO Speed Series race will take October 8th. [click for race information]

August 14th 2006
- The RSO #3 that was originally set for August 20th has been re-scheduled for September 2nd in Ottawa, the day before the Ottawa Inline Skating Festival.

May 20th 2006
- We are sorry to report tomorrow's RSO Points Series #1 that was to be held in Harriston, Ontario has been postponned given the expected weather conditions. Stage 1 will be rescheduled later in the season. Use the TISC Hotline for information on postponements, cancellations etc of the RSO Outdoor Points Series throughout the season: (647) 210-TISC (8472).

April 17th 2006
- The 2006 RSO Outdoor Speed Points Series events schedule is now ready. Two of the series races will take place at the CITC's 200-meter banked track. There has been a few changes to the series; for the outdoor races, distances will change from stage to stage. There will be a preem in the longer races worth points. Prize money will be awarded after the final race of the series. There are two kids divisions for outdoor: 7 and under and 8 to 12. The kids divisions feature shorter races.

February 27th 2006
- There has been some changes for the remaining indoor series events; a new date has been added for March 19th (Scooters Roller Palace in Mississauga) and the April 2nd event will take place at the Scooters Roller Palace in Mississauga as well.

December 1st 2005-
All of the dates for the 2005-2006 Indoor Speed Series are online. There are a few changes to the series, including a points system that beings at 35 points for 1st place regardless of the # of skaters. If there are more than 35 registered skaters, the # of points will correspond to the # of skaters. There is also a new family fee structure. Prize money will be awarded at the end of the series.

November 16th 2005
- The first indoor series race of the year is set for December 4th at Scooters Roller Palace in Mississauga. Look for more information on the future dates.

September 20th 2005
- The September 24th event has been confirmed for Aurora- More.

August 19th 2005
- The Montreal stage (September 10th) has been cancelled. A tentative date of September 24th will be confirmed for the Cambridge/ Toronto area.

August 16th 2005- The 4th RSO race of the year that was supposed to take place this past weekend in Cambridge was rained out. We are looking at an alternative replacement date.

July 20th 2005- In accepting the offer of a World Team Fund Raiser Event by Alex Perrie
at his Inline Training Centre in Harriston we have had to balance or juggle a little, the remaining stages of the RSO Outdoor Points Series. The following changes have been made:

Stage 4 is now Sunday August 14 - Cambridge - venue to be confirmed.
Stage 5 is Saturday September 10 - Montreal
Stage 6 is Sunday October 2 - Ottawa

June 24th 2005- The 3rd stage of the series is confirmed; it will take place in Aurora (just north of Toronto) on Sunday July 10th. Click here for more information.

June 2nd 2005- The June 19th race has been confirmed for the Hershey Centre in Mississauga. Click here for more.

May 8th 2005- The August 13th or 14th Cambridge event has been set to October 1st or 2nd- to be confirmed. The 2005 outdoor series finale will take place in Ontario (Cambridge) about 1 month after the 5th stage (September 10th) in Montreal (to be confirmed).

May 6th 2005- The 4th stage is confirmed for July 30th in Aylmer, Quebec- just across the bridge from Ottawa. Click here for more.

April 28th 2005- New for 2005; There is a Club/ Team Championship and a Kids Division! The top-7 skaters of each club/ team at each stage will earn points for the club/ team. Kids will be able to race in 100, 200, and 400-meter races for only $5! Click here for more. It looks like the May 8th race will attract skaters from Montreal, Ottawa, Cambridge, and Toronto! Make sure you're part of the action at St-Clement's School track in Toronto.

April 10th 2005- The presentations of the indoor series awards will take place at the first outdoor series race on May 8th.

March 25th, 2005- The 2005 outdoor series is currently being planned. The first two dates (to be confirmed) have been posted.

January 19th, 2005
- The date for the 4th stage of the 2004-2005 Indoor Series has been changed from March 6th to February 26th, 2005.

November 13th, 2004- The dates and locations for the 2004 Indoor Speed Points Series have been released. Click here for the information.

July 8th, 2004
- The July 17th Outdoor Series Race is confirmed to take place at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga. Click here for the details.

July 5th, 2004
- The Outdoor Series Race that was to take place in Belleville and the one that was to take place in Toronto have been swapped due to safety issues. New locations will be announced shortly and pusblished on the website.

May 27th, 2004
- The race for June 20th in Toronto is confirmed. You can find all the details here.

May 20th, 2004-
The race for June 26th near Ottawa is confirmed. All the details for the event can be found here.

May 11th, 2004
- The May 22nd race will take place at the Sunlife/ Clarica facility that the Tri Cities Speed Club uses to train. Click here for more information.

April 16th, 2004- The April 24th race that was to take place at St-Clement's School has been cancelled. A replacement date may be announced in the near future.

April 2nd, 2004- The first race of the 2004 Outdoor Series will take place on April 24th in Toronto at the St-Clement's School 200 meter track. The 1500 meter pack race has been changed to a 500 meter pack race, with qualifying for the 500 meter races still based on the 1500 meter time trial.

March 21st, 2004- The 2003-2004 Indoor Series is now complete. We saw 46 skaters in total compete over the 4 events. Congratulations on all participants and thank you to all the supporters who made the series a success.
