Luke 23:44-46
It was now the about the sixth hour, and darkness
came over the whole land until the ninth hour,
for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of
of the temple was torn in two.
Jesus called out with a loud voice,
"Father, into your hands I
I commit my spirit."
When He had said this,
He breathed His last.

Luke 24:1
On the first day of the week, very early in the
morning, the women took the spices they had prepared
and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled
away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did
not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were
wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes
that gleamed like lightening stood beside them.
In their fright the women bowed down with their
faces to the ground, but the men said to them,
"Why do you look for the living among the dead?
He is not here; He is risen!

As a child growing up I believed in the Easter Bunny and
Jesus. Now that I'm all grown up, it's Jesus and the
Easter Bunny. The Easter Bunny is cute...Jesus is SERIOUS!

The following Hymn is my all time favorite. I was raised
in the Episcopal church. All Saints in Ivoryton Connecticut.
I joined the choir when I was 10 yrs old. I now attend
All Saints Church in Bakersfield, California.

CHRIST IS RISEN TODAY

Jesus Christ is risen today Alleluia!
Our triumphant holy day Alleluia!
Who did once upon the cross Alleluia!
Suffer to redeem our loss Alleluia!

Hymns of praise then let us sing Alleluia!
Unto Christ, our heavenly King Alleluia!
Who endured the cross and grave Alleluia!
Sinners to redeem and save Alleluia!

But the pains which He endured Alleluia!
Our salvation have procured Alleluia!
Now above the sky He's King Alleluia!
Where the Angels ever sing Alleluia!
