Transporation is an inportant part of the RSVP.  Drivers are needed to transport seniors to medical appointments, and other non-emergency transports.  When funds are available, RSVP is able to reimburse volunteers .20 per mile.  Volunteer Drivers are covered by supplimentary insurance while driving on an assignment.

Volunteer Drivers are also used in our Meals on Wheels Program.  Daily meals and freezer meals are prepared and delivered to seniors who otherwise can not attend local meal sites.

Volunteers work anywhere from 1 to 2 hours per week, to 8 hours per week.

There are current needs in:   Milton-Freewater and Hermiston.
Funding to reimburse drivers comes from donations and monies from the Special Transporation Funds in Morrow and Umatilla Counties.  Funding is dependent on availability.
