You have indicated that you would like to know more about how to have a personal relationship with God. That’s great! The fact is, God loves you and wants to connect with you as His creation. He desires to have a relationship with you and for you to have one with Him. God has proved He loves You! Do you realize that your decision to connect with God is the most important decision you will ever make? It is a decision that affects your life now and forever. The Bible says that God really does want the best for you. And because of that, He gave the best He had to give. Jesus! "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son, that whoever believes in him will not die but have eternal life." John 3:16 The Problem. However, connecting to God is not possible because of sin. We all have sinned and that leads to death and an eternity separated from God. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23 "The wages of sin is death." Romans 6:23 But death was not God’s plan for us. Life is God’s plan for us. Abundant and eternal life! Romans 5:8 says, "But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners." Our Connection to God! Jesus came to give everyone abundant and eternal life with God. Jesus himself said that, "I am the way, the truth, and the life." Jesus proved He was unique in that He came to earth, died on a cross, and was raised to life. It was because of that, that we can have new life in Jesus Christ! Nothing or nobody else but Jesus could have fixed the problem. Not even your best religious or moral efforts would have gotten God’s attention. "God saved you by his special favor when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it." Ephesians 2:8-9 Trust. So, we all have to turn to God for forgivenss of sin and trust that Jesus died to give you new life. "…turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord."Acts 3:19 By professing your trust in Jesus you are putting total faith in what He did to give you eternal and abundant life. Faith is pushing forward in a new relationship with Jesus Christ. It is seeking him with all of your heart and allowing Him to change you from the inside out. Would you like to connect to God through personal relationship with Jesus? If you are ready, talk to God right now heart-to-heart. This prayer is only a help for you to express your heart’s desire of what you believe. God, thanks for loving me enough to send your one and only Son to die for me. I realize and believe I am a sinner. I also believe that Jesus died and was raised to life so that I may connect with you forever. I want to turn from my way of life and follow Jesus and His way. Right now, I invite Jesus to come into my life and take over. Thank you God for giving me new life. In Jesus name! Spiritual Growth.
