next day's entry

We made it to Luxor which is about 10 painful hours on a small smokey train.  We have been seeing sights that make everything in the US seem very young.  We saw some tombs that were over 3000 years old, can you believe that?

Our room last night was $3.80 for 2 beds and our own bath.  We woke up to the banging sound that ended up being a butcher that was cutting up a cow head in the middle of the street.  We could barely see the cow through the flies.  I think we will have beef tonight!

We met a guy who was a Jordanian that was visitng Egypt.  He claimed he was living in Chicago so we asked him for some ID.  He pulled out his Illinois driver's license and his name was Jim Love Lee.  What a great name.

We are going to head to the Red Sea on Saturday.  The city is called Dahab and it is on the eastern side of the Sinai Penisula.  It is supposed to have great diving and snorkeling.  We will write more when we see or do more.  Until then....
