Post Trip Blues

My family and I took a year off travelling around the world (RTW).  We did the trip as a family, with our 2 kids (W2K).  We checked out of our comfortable life in America suburbia, rented out our house, bought some tickets, and off we went for a year.  We rarely made advance reservations.  Sound scary? Exciting? Both?  Want to learn more about how we did it?

Before, during, and after the trip many have expressed interest in knowing more about the details. We put together this site to help explain. This site is not about recognition, glory, or tooting our horn.  It is about communication, sharing ideas, inspiring, and reaching out to others who have done, or are thinking of doing, similar things.

This site is not a travelogue.  While there are some stories, this site focuses more on the logistics of such a trip, and chronicalling it.

Like the old saying goes, the only way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time.  Similarly, executing a RTW trip is not something you can plan quickly, or completely in a small period of time.  It is process, a long series of steps of learning, planning, moving forward, overcoming doubt and doubters, and believing in your ability to succeed.
Happy browsing!  And if you feel the itch to travel, SCRATCH IT!
