First Grade Fun

This year our first grader played outdoor soccer with CABOSA, our local league.  He had a great time learning game skills, cooperation and teamwork.  He also made his FIRST GOAL ever!  He was very proud and we are very proud of him.

One of our first graders favorite activities is to spend time outdoors running and playing with his friends.  He has a four-footed friend named Buttons, shown here:

Button's Mother and siblings were killed when a tree fell on them while it was being harvested.  He was rescued and is living on a large plantation.  He is tame to a degree, but is free to come and go as he pleases.  Our students have enjoyed this close up glimpse at one of God's creatures.

Our class uses the computer for play after our work is done.  Some of our favorite games are freebies downloaded from the web.  Here are some links to fun games (demos, shareware and freeware) you may want to get.  We use Macs and PC's, so they are listed by platform:

Macintosh (PowerMac) - find these  and ton's more at Version Tracker's game page:

Aperion - fast paced arcade style.  Like Centipede.
AstroRock - space arcade game with RocknRoll Soundtrack.

Food Chain - strategy game based on the balance of nature
Monkey Shines - fun arcade game.  Hilarious soundtrack!
PAC the Man- FREE - like the original, has 25 levels.
