Magic Chef Diamond's favorite recipes

I have benefits and pitfalls in my business as anyone does. Some of my benefits include travel to 250 cities and five countries in seven years and for extended periods of time and good hours which leave me time for some of my passions.

One of my favorite things to do is to cook, My other favorite is to eat. One of the benefits of working at some of the finest restaurants in the world including Spagos in Beverly Hills, and the Beidermier in Budapest, Hungary and countless many others is I get to eat at these wonderful establishments and try the chefs creations. I have been cooking since I was six and helped my mother make meals. I started to make meals by myself at age 12. I was a ccok in my teens and early twenties in restaurants. Here are some of my favorite recipes that I like to cook.

Mom's Real Hungarian Goulash

Ingredients:

1 Large yellow Onion
1 medium to large vine tomato
1 pound beef chuck cut into cubes
1 tbsp Salt
3 tablespoons Szeged real Hungarian Paprika
1 Large Green Pepper

Saute the onions in a pan until they are brown. In another pan brown the beef cubes. Combine these when done. Then add six cups water, green pepper sliced, paprika and tomato sliced into four pieces. Cook at 3/4 high heat for 45 minutes then add one half cup water and simmer on med heat for 30 more minutes.
I make large Wide Egg Noodles with this for easy preparation. Pour the Sauce over the the Egg noodles and serve with one talespoon Sour Cream on the side.
This is a great flavorful easy dish to make. The above recipe is not spicy. My wife likes it hot, So I have changed this for her taste, for a medium hot add 1 tablespoon of the szeged Hot Paprika. If you like hot food add one jalapeno to this recipe instead of the hot paprika. If you like XX hot add one Habenero pepper instead of the jalapeno.

Soon I will add the recipe for homemade noodles for this dish.

Dr Love's Asian Weight loss Salad

At one time I lost sixty pounds eating this salad every day for dinner for 9 months. It is so good I never got sick of it.
Ingredients:
One can Mandarin Oranges chilled
1 Package Beef Top Ramen Soup
Olive oil
1/2 cup almonds slivered
1/3 cup Sesame Oil
1/3 cup Rice Vinegar
Romaine Lettuce
One teaspoon or serving of sweet and low, or equal or splenda.

To make the dressing combine the sesame oil, rice vinegar, and 1/3 cup of mandarin orange juice from the can of mandarin oranges. Your sweetner of choice, I like sweet and low. one tablespoon pepper, one tablespoon salt, 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce.
Put this in the refrigerator until you do the next step.
In a pan combine the almonds, two tablespoons olive oil and the top ramen noodles straight out of the package and crumble the top ramen noodles and saute this on medhigh to high heat until it is slightly burnt in the pan. Also add one half of the dried beef soup pack to this as you saute. These are basically the croutons for this salad. Put the romaine lettuce in a bowl, put the mandarin oranges on it then put the almond and ramen croutons on then add the dressing. YUMMY

PS my Uncle gave me the best advice in travel and food when I was young and I live by it today - "When in Rome Eat and Do as the Romans", Always eat the food that the locals eat and you won't be disappointed
