Hopefully, for you newbies you'll do your visa run before you leave your home country. I recommend doing so, as those of you who come here without one will have to do a Visa run to Japan. Chances are your school might get you to work right away without the proper visa or you might find yourself on a plane back home. WORKING IN SOUTH KOREA WITHOUT A VISA IS ILLEGAL. THERE ARE NO EXEMPTIONS FOR NEW ARRIVALS OR TEMPORY VISAS. HUNDREDS OF TEACHERS ARE DEPORTED FOR LIFE AFTER ONLY ONE OFFENSE. IGNORANCE IS NOT A DEFENSE. You don't have to work before you get your visa. Don't be bullied. They need you alot more than you need them. There are hundreds of good schools looking for teacher, and some of them even play be the immigration rules. If you aren't worried about getting deported from South Korea, remember it could have ramifications back in your home country and also when you try to travel or work outside it. Getting deported is a serious matter. Anywho, that's enough ranting for now. This page is devoted to getting you to Fukuoka and getting around once your there. This is all from my own experiences, so if you have anything you'd like to add or disagree with, give me a shout. |
