Caleb and I had to stay in the hospital until June 28th because of the c-section.   On Friday morning, (28th) Caleb had his first ultrasound.  It showed that his left kidney was multicystic (which we already knew), and that his right kidney showed signs of  slight hydronephrosis.  Our nurse told us that it was common to see and that the right kidney should clear up within a short period of time.  Still, it was difficult to leave the hospital knowing little more than we had when I was pregnant - and with the added knowledge that his right kidney was not 100% perfect.  Combined with all that were my changing hormones, struggles with breastfeeding, and pain from the surgery.  This was a challenging day for our little family!

It seemed to take me forever to walk out of the hospital - I was so swollen from the labour and surgery (and all of the fluids that they pumped into my body)... but here we are - in front of the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Edmonton AB

The perinatal clinic we attended is also located here.
Home with Caleb!!
Special thankyou's to all of the staff who took such good care of us; both before, during, and after Caleb's birth!!  We are SO thankful for you!
