This picture was taken in April 2000 - just over a year before we got married. Sheri's students asked her if this was the church that we were going to be married in!! It wasn't! - but our memories of this little chapel by the wayside in Alberta's Crowsnest Pass are very sweet. |

Winter 2003 Well, we've survived our first year and bit here in Winnipeg, MB. I never knew that snowplows for sidewalks existed - until I felt the house shaking as they drove by. Did you know that there are no municipal laws requiring you to shovel your own sidewalk? I guess that's what the plows are for. (can you say 'NDP government'?) Things are a little different here from redneck Alberta - but we are managing quite well. Kevin is continuing to enjoy his ministry at Mission Baptist Church with the youth and their families. He is also involved with the worship ministry. Kevin is continuing to work on completing his Masters; and we are planning trips back to Alberta for short-term courses. We will be in Edmonton in January and Calgary in March. Hopefully we will get to see some of you. I am enjoying staying at home with Caleb; watching him grow from a little baby of 6 weeks when we first got here - to a toddler of 17 months (as I write). He's growing so fast, as his pictures will show. We have recently purchased our first home and are in the renovating stages. Our current project is the kitchen. When we began tearing the old panelling over plaster and strapping walls out, we thought that we had sawdust insulation... but that turned out to only be in about two places.... there was no more insulation to be found other than the May 29, 1968 newspaper stuffed beneath one window. Needless to say, living in 'Winterpeg' requires insulation... so we are in the process of installing some R-20. That should make it nice and snug. This coming summer we plan on tearing out some more of the old walls and re-insulating etc. Should be fun. We've enjoyed having family come and visit us and hope to have more of our family and friends come for a visit. (hint, hint) Stay in touch - we would love to hear from you!! Kevin, Sheri, and Caleb |
