Well to start out Kuja is 24 years old. He is from the planet Terra, he was created to bring choaos and war to planet Gaia (the planet you are one). Kuja isn't really that strong. What makes him strong is the Lifa Tree. The Lifa Tree captures souls that Kuja has killed or capture. Gallord the creator of Kuja wanted the souls for himself so he could revive planet Terra. Planet Terra is a lifeless planet. And Kuja's objective was to caputre the souls and send them to the Lifa Tree, except Kuja turned against his master (Garland). And Kuja went out his own way to capture the souls for himself and stop Garland. And so Garland created the main creator of the story (Zaidene or however you spell his name), and so Zaidene's destiny is to stop Kuja (thats what it boils down to). And Kuja's sorce of power is the souls of the planet Gaia. Kuja was based on the villian of Sephorith from FF IIV (you were right on that one :-p). And Zaidene and Kuja are brothers since they were created from Garland. Except Zaidene is more powerful then Kuja except Zaidene hasn't learn how to control is power to full. And thats why Kuja wants to destory the planet were he can be the most powerful character. The crystal's of planet Gaia is what keeps Gaia alive and Kuja tries to destory the Crystals. I hate to tell you this but Kuja and Zaidene were just nothing but puppets like the black mages, except Garland gave Kuja and Zaidene life. Kuja is evil but without the souls of Gaia he is powerless. I know this sounds confusing at first, but play the game and you will understand. And Zaidene and Kuja are Genomes, this is the race that Garland decided to call them. There are more like Kuja and Zaidene except they are like the blackmages they are souless. AND THE REASON WHY KUJA WEARS THONGS IS BECAUSE...WERE HE CAN HIDE HIS TAIL!!! He does not like being a Genome so he hides his tail behind his thongs!!! Kuja thinks he is all powerful, but he really isn't, and is incapable of trance. Therefore, he steals a bunch of souls from the Iifa tree, using their emotions to force himself to trance. He thinks the fact that he was a Genome, well, was very crappy, so he hid his tail. He hates everybody, and doesn't think anything should be done with help from others, but that's pretty much who Zidane is, and that's why he wants to kill him so much. Kuja was sent by Garland to brew up war on Gaia, so the filtering of souls through the Iifa Tree would go faster. That's why he either 1) created or 2) incited Brahne's greed, so she could do his work for him. (Queen Brahne's state of mind before Kuja showed up is up for debate, but he did supply her with the magic weapons she needed to take over the world.) Once she was dead, he became resentful towards Garland and tried to capture as many eidolons as possible so he could defeat Garland. Kuja can summon Bahamut. Also, unlike most of the genomes, he has a soul. Well that about does it.
