Welcome
Hiya. My name is Amazonia,
and I am a character in the Runescape game, which can be found at www.runescape.com,
and since you found this website, you are probably in the game too.
I love this game, having spent a lot of time training in the various
skills, and as you can see from the picture on the left, I am fairly
well rounded. I use these skills to meet my personal goals and to help others meet
their goals, as much as I can and still enjoy the game.
Check the Table of
Contents to understand how we can work together in the various areas for us both
to benefit.

September - My plans for a change in career are proceeding apace,
having cleared several hurdles with several remaining. This new
career involves a great deal of travel, and if all goes according to plan I will
be away for two to five weeks at a time, with opportunities between trips for
brief periods of play. I am investigating the requirements for remote play, but
expect several months to pass before being able to implement them. In
short, while I have enjoyed playing Runescape a great deal, and look forward to
continuing to play, in the foreseeable future my play times will be sporadic and
brief. My good and dear Runescape friends, I will miss you in my absence
and sincerely hope to catch you in the game during the brief times I will be
able to play.

September - Now that I have been playing again for a couple of
days, there have been reasonable questions that I can answer.
What was the Runite Revolution? The Runite Revolution was at the
right place at the right time in Runescape history. Many "middle
class" players were unhappy with the Runite monopoly, and had the strength
in numbers to affect a change. The Runite Revolution organized this desire
for change, with the goal of breaking the monopoly and the price fixing tactics,
seeking the result of reasonable prices on rune items.
How did the Runite Revolution plan to accomplish its goal? For some
time, the rune item portion of the Runescape economy was controlled, through
price fixing by a monopoly of a few players. Demand for rune items greatly
exceeded the purposely limited supply, thereby maintaining outrageously high
prices. The solution required bringing a very large number of rune items
into the marketplace, allowing the supply of rune items to more closely fill the
demand for them. Preliminary estimates ran around 25,000 to 35,000 of each
desired item. No one smither can make that many items, no matter how much
the experience points are desired. So an alternative route was
taken. The offer of free smithing of Rune items had two desired
results. The first, and most prominent, result was the flood of donations,
from those who desired change, to raise one smither's levels, allowing even more
desirable products to be available. This was the "tip of the
iceberg", the visible portion of the Revolution. The second, and most
surreptitious (hidden), result was the several reactions of the smithers already
able to produce these desired products. There was a frenzy to create and
sell these products to make their desired excess profits while still
available. Even more products were produced to sell for materials to raise
experience levels faster. Products were also produced to raise the
experienced levels of smithers "friendly" to the monoply
holders. This reaction was the much larger and essential, though hidden
part of the iceberg. Two camps of thought were created, "free
smithers" versus those who desired a price fixing monopoly. Both
camps were an essential part of the Revolution's success. The contention
between the camps accelerated the absolutely essential process of adding to the
supply of desired products to meet the demand. To sum up, the Runite
Revolution used the same runite monopoly it contended with to finish its task
more quickly and completely. In other words, the runite monopoly was
played like a concert instrument as it delivered its final performance.
Is the Runite Revolution over? Yes it is. The goal of making
runite items generally available to those who can use them for reasonable prices
has been accomplished. All who supported the Runite Revolution may claim a
victory. You have changed the game of Runescape for the better, and earned
a place in its history.
What about the post on Zybez, that Amazonia had quit? In
conversations with W13 of Zybez, he indicated that after 1 month of not
posting, the Amazonia name on Zybez would automatically discontinue allowing
anyone to take it up, and make a post. The timing of the imposter's post
fits this explanation. The real Amazonia never made any post about
quitting.

September - My apologies to my friends in Runescape, and to the
supporters of the Runite Revolution for my impromptu hiatus.
This summer has presented many difficulties in real life that required a great
deal of attention. Each day I thought, "Tomorrow I can play,"
but resolving the seemingly continuous onslaught of troubles made it impossible
to make any game plans. Whoever said life's problems come in three's was
very highly optimistic. In short, I have not quit, but many things have
changed, effecting my ability to play the game on any kind of a regular
basis. One of the issues that remains to be settled is my career
plans. I am hoping to take a position that will involve a great deal of
travel, meaning that the times I can play will be sporadic and often short.
In brief conversations with friends and supporters, I was very pleased to
learn that others have taken up the ideals of the Runite Revolution and I
applaud those who carry on.
Any of you who were holding items for me, either for sale, or for smelting, or
whatever, are welcome to them. To the best of my knowledge, I hold nothing
which belongs to any other player.
During the irregular times I will play, I expect to have a lot of catching up to
do. I was way behind on the quests, and am now even further behind.
I also value having a well balanced character, and need to develop other skills
as well.
I love to smith, and expect to continue, but every reasonable expectation is
that it will take months to make significant progress in that area.
