This is a page of PONDERINGS I've had from time to time; things that are either odd, don't make sense, or are just plain phenomenal. Some of this stuff could have possibly been put onto my "Trivia" page I suppose, but I still felt they deserve their own page/category.

The terms "son-in-law" and "daughter-in-law" have always seemed like a very wrong word to use for what they mean. It's rather disgusting.. For two married people to be called a form of "son" and/or "daughter" just sounds incestuous and gross. Anyway, that's my opinion.

Has anyone else realized that almost all DVD's only have trailers for their own movie. That's really odd. Up until DVD's came along, you always got to see trailers for other movies, whenever you'd go to a theatre or whenever you'd rent a video.

If "the man" is such a hated or mean character, then why is it a compliment when someone says, "You the man!"?

Okay. This pondering is not my own, but it's one I realized about 3 weeks before I heard it explained and one I agree with, and wanted to share: If to be a "0" means to be worthless, bottom of the barrel, a nothing, and to be "#1" means to be the best, top of the heap, cream of the crop, etc., that doesn't leave much room for everyone else in the world. Where do we fit in?..... The cool and fantastic Laurie Anderson came up with this pondering in the aftermath of explaining the binary code system of computers.
