Grand Canyon/Vegas Vacation

In August of '98 I flew out to Las Vegas to meet up with Dad and Danielle (they flew in from Brazil for her brother's wedding). The three of us were joined by Danielle's cousin Nick, who is smart-as-a-whip and a cool young man. We drove out to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon (took a raft trip from the Glen Canyon dam as well) for a few days, then back to Las Vegas for gambling and to see the Star Trek Experience. It was a great vacation, and I plan to visit again someday, if not retire out west by the desert. There are some magnificent sights, and the benefit of no humidity is a big plus!

The view from our raft down the tame Colorado (it gets rougher further downstream).

taken at the Grand Canyon Lodge on the North Rim.
The nice lady who took our picture has a son who lives in the same dorm as Chelsea Clinton at Stanford.

Pay no attention to the man in front of the big hole! He's up to no good!

Me in front of the Grand Canyon on the North Rim at Cape Royal.

The Vermillion Cliffs north of the Canyon.
It was very pretty, right out of a John Ford western.
Our motto for the week--"Look how blue the sky is!"
