Berry Crisp

5 cups fresh or frozen berries of your choice
1/2 cup plus 2/3 cup sugar
1 cup plus 1 tablespoon white flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 large egg, lightly beaten
3 tablespoons melted butter
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Combine berries, 1/2 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon flour in a lare bowl. Mix together and put in an 8-inch square baking dish.

In medium bowl combine 1 cup flour, 2/3 cup cugar, baking powder and salt. Mix well with fork. Make a well in the center of flour mixture; add egg and stir until flour is moistened. Blend with your fingers.

Sprinkle flour mixture evenly over berries. Drizzle melted butter over top. Bake until top is lightly browned and filling is bubbly - about 40 minutes.

Transfer to wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature.
