 Looking for 1983 Grads

Hello All!

In recent weeks, I've run into Scott Standish and Kevin Milley. During the conversations, we've all mentioned how it would be good to try and get as much feedback as possible back from "'83ers" on trying to get together to celebrate a 20 year anniversary of our graduation. Being that it would be rather short notice to try and organize something "fancy and formal" for 2003, I'm looking for grads to contact me with ideas. I spoke with Kevin Milley last night (after bumping into each other at IGA in Longueuil!!) and he suggested that we post a message on the Phorum. So here it is!!!

Hey I am game for anything from a formal sit down dinner to meeting at the legion somewhere for a few pints. I think both would be great idea just to see how everyone is doing. I know that Marc Leblanc, Alison Belanger, Mike Brown Mario Perron, Dianne Shea, Lisa Dubuc, Dana MacDonald, and a few others still live in Quebec plus I can get a hold of Rob Cook and Chuck Petitpas also. Let me know what you want to do and if I can help let me know. I would love to see the old gang again it would be a blast. I hope that a few people will repond to this. Talk to you soon

Hi Scott!!

Have you fully recovered after the night at Scottyz??!! Denis Bernicky (cool dude who runs this site!!) e-mailed me yesterday stating that he's going to send out a general e-mail to all "'83ers" to grab their attention. Maybe if we're able to contact the people that we know are still around would help spread the word. After I spoke with Kevin Milley the other night, he mentioned that he works at PWC and has run into quite a few grads presently working there. I'll try and do something to get everybody's attention, and take it on a day-to-day basis. To date, you and Kevin are the only grads that I've heard back from.

I work with Kevin Milley and Todd Chabott here at Pratt and Whitney. What I
like
to suggest for a site would be to hold the reunion at the Otterburn Legion.
I
was there for the Class of '81 reunion and it was fine. Beer is cheap and
there
is a bartender. Or I can reserve the Pratt and Whitney Rec Clubhouse as I
did
for the 1993 reunion. Nice place but I would think that there is more
organizing
to do. Example bar tender, cleanup crew and so on....

Let me know what you think. Plus at the legion I can probably organize a
band to
play. Paul Gagne, Sam Ouellette, Dave Wood, Mark Leblanc and so on.

All I can say about the Otterburn Park Legion is ditto. We held the Class of 80 reunion there and the staff was very good, the food was very good and the beer was inexpensive. There is more than enough room for a band/dj and even a small dance floor. The great thing about the Legion is that they already have all the staff and facilities you need for something like this.

Hello Tania,

I think it would be interesting to see the 83 grads again, I see Donna Ward and am in touch with Tom Wright every now and then, I am sure they would be thrilled to join in on this event.

If you can assemble a big enough group, it would be possible to rent/occupy either a full or partial Restaurant-Bar. This would probably be a much more inviting atmosphere than a big reception room or banquet and the food would not have to be catered.

I organize trade shows and receptions for my customers, but mostly at the Auberge des Gouverneurs In St-Hyacinthe.There is a really nice rentable room on the top floor with glass walls all around, its makes a great party there is a very nice restaurant, bar and even a dance club downstairs. If anyone would like to have something to drink there is always the hotel.

I think if you`re going to celebrate the fact that we graduated 20 ..$%/"**& years ago it might as well be fun, because if you really think about it's quite depressing.

Glad to hear that the interest is starting to pick up I think that the Legion would be a good idea. Find out how much it is to rent the hall it should be fairly cheap. Also you do not have to organize that much. I can start finding people but we need a date to shoot for. I think the May 24 weekend is the best because it is a long weekend or July or Sept. We need the long weekend for people who have to travel outside of town.
It sounds like a super idea. Hey Brian how are you? I hear your Bro is dating Dianne Shea is that true. Say hi to both of them for me. Are you still in touch with Kurz and Brugmans. I heard he closed the restaurant too bad. I will talk to you soon.

Great to hear from you!! If I'm not mistaken, you're living out in the Maritimes, so I can understand how the date would be more important than the location. As Scott has mentioned, the long weekend in May is a possibility. After that, we would have the Jean-B and Canada Day weekend. What I'll start doing, is sending out a few more e-mails to see which weekend would work. Please keep in touch!

Hi all. Darrell is right. Us out of towners would need advanced notice of when it will be. There are many of us in Ontario . I would like to bring my kids to Montreal in 2003 as they have never been and knowing when in advance would help in planning a family trip at the same time.

Good hearing from you!! I do agree with what you're saying about having advanced news on the date. Right now, I haven't had all that much feedback. I was hoping for a lot more, but what you see is what I've received in just over 1 week. If you happen to bump into any '83ers in Ontario, please spread the word. Personally, I wouldn't mind having this bash on the Victoria Day weekend, as my summer's are usually pretty hectic. More people that know about it, the bigger the bash!

Actually I'm in Colorado now but the Maritimes was great. Interest seems to be picking up and as this coincides with our twentieth (didn't make it to the last one) all the more reason to make it happen. Keep up the effort and I'm sure it'll all come together.

A few months ago I had a brief conversation with Mimica Vasolos, who told me that Sherry Fox and Donna Ward were also thinking about a reunion. I believe her (Mimica) e-mail address is listed.

Thanks for the feedback. I had e-mailed Mim a few weeks ago, and haven't heard anything back from her. If by chance you happen to hear from Sherry and Donna, would you mind passing the info on about a possible '83 reunion? I wouldn't mind getting their ideas also.

The response from my e-mail that Denis sent last week, hasn't produced as much feedback as I had hoped for. I'll keep plugging away at it, but the more help I can get contacting people would be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to pass on my e-mail address to those who you run into.

Hey Tania and fellow classmates. I think you should pick a date and let's go from there. I think the best date is the May 24th weekend. It is before school is over and it is a long weekend for most people in Canada( except in Que). I will give you a hand anyway I can. I am sure we can get at least half the class to attend. I think we should confirm a date and a place and just go with it. Let people make their schedule around it. Those are my two cents it would be great to have a reunion.

Actually May 24 is a holiday in Qc too and most people call it Victoria Day but it is officially called something else. It used to be called Fete de Dollard but it was recently renamed something else.

Here's a list of folks that I've heard back from regarding the '83 Reunion:
Scott Standish, Darrell Martin, Kevin Milley, Normand Doucet, Steve Upton (on behalf of his wife), Dave Wood, Tom Wright, Shelley Oakes, Mim Vasalos and Brian O'Connor. To date, the feedback is that a Victoria Day get-together seems to be the date to go with, at the Otterburn Legion. So.......why don't we finalize this today: 1983 Reunion, Victoria Day weekend (have to choose the exact date) Otterburn Legion. All those in favor, please respond and let me know!! I'm eager to get this going!!!

Plus, Brian O'Connor had e-mailed me a few weeks ago, stating that he could try and organize a band to play there. Paul Gagne, Sam Ouellette, Dave Wood, Mark Leblanc are the names that he mentioned. I'll ask Brian if he could get in touch with them, to see if they would play at the Legion. Dave Wood e-mailed me earlier on. I think what I'll start doing is posting the e-mails as I receive them, so that this way, everybody can have a look at them. All personal info will be removed, (phone numbers, addresses, etc) unless people want them on.

Damned right I'm quick!!! I work in a company that requires speedy answers over the internet, so I'm constantly working the net and my e-mails!!!! Quicker now than what I was in RVR!!!! Now I now why my parents enrolled me in those typing classes!!

If we could get the whole class attending, that would be mind-blowing!! Have to agree to your earlier posting of finger foods: Excellent idea....gives everybody more chance to mingle!!

ok guys we need to get together with everyone and try to organize all of this.... with this new world we live in i think the easiest and best way to do this is via the net.... there is this chat line called WWW.PALTALK.COM ... if we can somhow get everyone together on a date and time we could probably get alot done..... I just read through the Forum – Steve could book the Otterburn Legion hall for free, as he is a member. All that would have to be paid for is catering and music.

Scott: Would you be able to co-ordinate with Steve to get the booking done? I'll contact Brian O'Connor to see if he can reserve the band. Can we start getting some ideas about catering, or does the Legion do meals?

I also have a great caterer who used to work in the RVRHS kitchen and who will be running the new cafeteria once RVR moves to Longueuil in January. She also caters MANY functions at the Otterburn Legion. Her food is EXCELLENT and is reasonably priced. Her name is Sandra Starnes, and she can be reached via e-mail at: (took the info out.....not sure if she wants it posted.....I have it on my e-mail...Tan)

Sure I will co-ordinate with Steve but I need an e-mail or phone number to call him. The legion is perfect and I think that we should keep the price to a minimum because you don't know how many are coming. I will talk to steve as soon as I have the info for him and we will organize that

Morning all!

Just received the following from Angel:

I just spoke with Steve at work. Unfortunately the weekend you have chosen is impossible for him and several others, as this is the weekend of the annual GASH golf tournament. I don't know how many in the Class of 1983 attend this weekend-long event every year, but I can check. As for the Legion's availability that weekend, it is booked already for the Saturday of Victoria Day weekend. If you really want to have it there that weekend, you'll have to opt for Friday.

As for Sandra, you'd be better off contacting her directly via e-mail. She will need to know what kind of meal plan you'd like, buffet or table service, hot or cold, etc. She'd also need an approximate number of people. I'm sure you'll enjoy corresponding with her - she will gladly make suggestions and answer any question you may have. She is quite accustomed to catering RVR reunions and events.

Greetings everyone. It's Tony Kerr, fellow '83-er!

Tania, it's great to see that you and the gang are hard at work diligently planning the upcoming reunion. You've got quite a list shaping up! Continued good luck with this.

And, of course, it's great to see fellow William Latter-ites like Mim, Tom and Norm chiming in as well.

I'm still hard at work out here in beautiful Vancouver with my band, Winston. We head back into the studio to complete the new album in February. So, who knows? We might even end up on tour in the Montreal area sometime close to your projected date.

Even if that doesn't happen, my wife and I are planning a trip back to Montreal in the summer anyway. So, I'll see what I can do to make it back there for the Shindig!

Good Morning All!!!

All of these responses are overwhelming!! I'm glad to see that the word is spreading. I received a phone call from Stash Jarosz last night, and he seems to be coming to the reunion. I'm going to try and finalize the date sometime this week.......(depends on the workload at work first!!). As we're all aware, the Saturday night at the Otterburn Legion is already booked. Our option is either the Friday or Sunday night. As Monday is an offical holiday, I'm wondering if that would be the better night. At least this gives people coming in from out-of-province or the States, time to get settled for the weekend. If I can get feedback from all interested, I'll run with that.

As of December 20th, I'll be on holiday and working on the reunion from home. I'll post my e-mail address at home before then, once I can figure out why the damned computer is giving me a hassle!!!!

I've just e-mailed Angel Beauregard (Steve Upton's wife) to see if she can let me now the availability of the legion for the Sunday. I'm hoping the legion is open on Sundays!

If worse comes to worse, I've just finished speaking with my parents, are they're members in the St. Bruno Legion. So......we might have a possible back up.....depends on what Angel comes back to me with.

Its funny that you mentioned Jimmy Gilker, i was thinking about all the people from William Latter, Stephanie Schneider, Pierre Dunant, Mike Fedele,Norm Doucet, All these people graduated with us!! Hello Tania I was speaking to Peter Brugmans in Ottawa. He said if we can't get the Legion there is a place in Beloeil he can probable get for free. The place is called the Rive Gauche and it is off the 20 just before you cross the bridge to go to St.Hilaire. Just another option because it has hotel rooms there for people to stay at who are from out of town. Also he was wondering if this will be a spouse or non-spouse party. The 81 grads I think had a non-spouse party. We should specify what we plan to do and how much it will cost. I will talk to you later and let me know what is going on.

Happy New Year All!!

Hope everybody's recovering well from the celebrations of Christmas and New Years.......I know that I am recovering very slowly!!! This is what's been happening:

Kasey Cartwright e-mailed me over the holidays letting me know that she's an Executive with the Otterburn Legion, and that she lives next door to the guy who handles the bookings for the legion. I've asked her to check the 19th of May for me. I e-mailed her earlier this afternoon, so hopefully, something will come back positive in coming hours.

Sherry Fox also dropped me an e-mail stating that she has quite a few e-mail addresses for me.


As for spouse or non-spouse: My husband will not be going, that's for sure!!! I plan on sending out the "official invitation" (once the date is confirmed) to all of those that I have heard from. I'll make sure to state how many people will be attending, and to include the spouses names. (We'll probably need name tags).

I have just finished speaking with the Otterburn Legion, and we have a date confirmed:

SUNDAY, MAY 18th, 2003

Here's what I need to do:

1) As I'm not a member, a non-member wanting to have a party must pay $100.00. If there is a member, then the hall is free, but the deposit is better, as that secures the hall. I have no problem with writing the cheque, but I will be needing to collect the money at the door from the '83ers who will be attending.

2) I need to send a Letter of Intent ASAP stating the following:
a) Type of event
b) Number of people attending
c) There will be house wine served at the bar
d) This is for adults only
e) All beverages MUST be served at the bar. This is not a BYOB event.
f) Party will be catered.

3) Contact a caterer in Otterburn: Sandra Starnes

4) Music: CDs or a band?


Feedback please!!! Need to get this letter in the mail, latest next week.

I sent out 46 invites last night, with 2 responding "yes", 1 "no" and 3 "maybes". So far, 16 people have read the invite, but haven't answered as of yet. Out of the 46 e-mails (these were the ones from the '83 webpage), only 3 bounced back. Not to bad. I've also e-mailed Laura Gubbe, who's sister Geraldine was in the '83 class, likewise for Kim Blackie, who's brother Ian was in the '83. Still waiting to hear from them.

I'll keep everybody posted as I hear from others.

1) Brian O' Connor will have an answer for me on Monday, Jan 6th, letting us know if he can book the Legion under his name as he's a member. If so, then we don't have to pay the $100.00. Save some money here!!

Alrighty, here's the latest news:

Brian O'Connor is looking into the Legion. Seems that even if you are a member, you still need to fork over $100.00 to rent and then an additional $50.00 for a damage deposit. If that's the case, price will be determined on the number of people attending. Ditto goes for the caterer.....still waiting for the menu and pricing.

Sherry Fox has been a sweetheart in digging through her files from 10 years ago, and has transposed all the info onto an excel spreadsheet for me. There are lots of people to call and try and find them. Any volunteers??!!!

Thanks for the feedback. As for any teachers, I can ask around. Concerning getting '82s and '84s involved: I'd rather that this just be an '83 event. The Otterburn Legion has a maximum capacity of 120 people, and I need to respect that amount. To date, we have 46 people confirmed for the party, so space is really reserved for the 1983 group. I do appreciate your ideas though. I recently heard from Paul Gagne, and he and his wife won't be attending as they have a family wedding that weekend. I still haven't heard from Danny Spallone. Kevin Milley is working in Poland with Pratt & Whitney, and I'm still waiting to hear back from him. Mike Sullivan will not be able to attend. As for a band, Brian O'Connor is looking into possibly getting one.
As your yourself: an idea if you'll be attending?

Hi Tania,

I can understand your reasons for not wanting to involve 82s & 84s because of space limitation. But because some of these hung out more with 83ers than their own year (myself included), maybe you'll want to keep that idea open as a last-minute option if you see that you have lots of room left. This way you can hopefully fill up to the max capacity. If you do go this route, let me know (you have my email) and I can field some from other classes such as: Peter Bailey, Jocelyne Mackay, Lana Harris and a few others.

FYI, I passed on the info about the reunion to Peter Arnold, Dave Ray and Rita Desfosses. Gave your email address for them to contact you directly if they're interested.

As for teachers, I ran into Mr. Farrah in St-Bruno this summer. If you go this route, I will speak to him if I run into him again.

This forum has become so enjoyable. Love reading about everyone. Phil Morotti, aren't you the guy who hung out with Bruce Mackereth many moons ago?

Thanks for the e-mail.

Tough situation that I'm being put in these days!! I don't like having to say "No", but in some cases, I don't have much of a choice. I understand that everybody had close friends in other years, just like I did!!

It seems that the posting from Derrick Bouradges has produced quite a few e-mails directed to me, from grads from other years. However, as mentioned to Derrick, there is a space limitation. If I see that as the date gets closer and there is some space available, then I'll figure something out. Please keep in mind however, that this will be EXTREMELY last minute.....most probably less than a week before the reunion. We will be selling tickets which will be available for the '83ers. If there are any left over, then I'll keep you mind. Anybody outside of the '83 class will be required to pay the same amount for the tickets.

I just wanted to respond to your e-mail concerning grads from 82 and 84. I don't think you understand all the time and effort Tania Fell has been giving to try to organize this reunion. We should all be happy that we are having one!

If the 82 and 84 want a reunion, well, they just need to organize their own!

The first e-mail Tania sent out is dated back November 26th.......and she has been doing an excellent job, all on her own, in trying to get in touch with all of us. Imagine what it would be like to try to get in touch with all the 82 - 84 grads? That's asking a bit much......

You said it yourself on your first posting "I would love to help you , but I'm very busy, Sorry" Well we are all very busy, unfortunateley.

Anyways, just thought I would give my 2 cents.

While it is anticipated that the reunion will attract a fair number of us to Otterburn on May 18th, logistics or other committments might not make it possible for everyone.

To ensure that we get to "see everybody", Bill Morency and I have agreed to prepare a photo montage of yesterday and today photos, but the success of the montage depends on you. A significant number of pictures, that never made it into the yearbook, have been locked away in Bill Morency's vault for the last two decades. Those photos, coupled with recent shots of you and your loved ones, would allow us to see how far we've come in the last 20 years and re-aquaint ourselves with the past.

If you could send me a couple of recent photos of you and your loved ones by e-mail, along with a caption indicating who is in the shot, we will incorporate them into the montage, which will run at some point during the evening. My e-mail address is: reebus@shaw.ca

Also, we urge you to bring your own cameras - digital or 35 mm - and take shots throughout the evening on the 18th. Following the reunion, we would like to make a number of the photos available on the RVRHS website as well as the montage.

Here is an opportunity to revisit the past, embrace the present and capture an evening that has been waiting to happen for the past 20 years.

Hi alllllllllllllll

I'm back!!! I was having trouble with my PC and hubby had to re-format...(whatever that means)hehehhehe...

Anyhow... I have just read all thats been happening on here and the thing that stuck out the most for me is that people considered having the 82's and 84's at OUR reunion... Well now if we do this it won't be OUR reunion... I think each class should take care of their own reunion... and all the work that Tania has done in making this possible should only be enjoyed within our grads... I've gotten a bit selfish in my old age... sorry folks!

As for Mike & Bill's ideas about the pictures I think thats a fantastic idea.... I'm all for it!!!

Good to hear from you Mim!!!

You're not the only person that I've heard from concerning the idea of having other years attending the reunion. Derrick was only mentioning what he had heard from Dean Rice, and I think that it created a bit of a panic!! Everything seems to now be resolved, as I have e-mailed some other people from '84 + '85 who were showing an interest in attending the reunion as "uninvited" guests.

Here's the latest headcount:

52 confirmed guests, 34 of whom are '83 grads!!!!! Our "magic" number was to get over 50 guests, so that the ticket prices start coming in under $20.00. I'll be calling the caterer on Jan 31st, to start putting together a proposed menu.

On a personal note: I have received a huge amount of e-mails and phone calls from a lot of people thanking me for putting this reunion together. I'm humbled by the responses.......words are kind of hard to type when you're speechless. I really wasn't sure what I was getting myself into when I first posted a message WAY back on Nov 26th, 2002. 2 months later, and I'm having the time of my life doing this. This reunion WILL BE a success!!!

Scott Standish, Mim, myself and Brian O'Connor are trying to get together very soon, to try and find people where we all grew up in. Example: As I grew up in St. Bruno, I'm trying to find grads from in and around that area. Mim will be helping within Chambly, and Brian and Scott with the Beloeil, Otterburn, St. Hilaire region. Mind you, this is still up in the air until we can find an evening to all meet!! Easier said than done. So...........if you want to help locate grads from the Chambly area, let me know!

Its been one hell of a sunday... I think I spoke to more graduates of 83 today than i have in the last 10 years or so.... I got in touch with Dean Rice and i sent him his invite, and of course he still speaks to all his old buddies... Pat boudreau, Rob Dubuc, Simon Leonard, Kenny Gibbs, Mario Perron, and the list goes on... He is going to tell them all about this so that end is taken care of.. I also spoke to Marcie Fergie today she gave me her email address and her invite is already in the mail... Steve Aillerie will be attending... Derek Svendson confirmed over the phone, Guy Beauchamps sent him an invite, Donna Ward confirmed over the phone, Sylvie Mercier confirmed and i sent her an invite too.... I spoke with Stephanie Schneider (shes in Vancouver) she will try her hardest her invite has been sent too.
I think this is really coming together and we still have plenty of time to get things organized. Keep the email addresses coming!!

Tan i spoke with Dean Rice this morning and he spoke to Pat Boudreau and Rob Dubuc.... Looks like we have 3 more confirmed...They will come by and give me the money after i come back from my holidays..

He also had a GREAT idea about playing some kind of trivia game...
ex; what did so and so teach in grade 7.. what was the hit song in 83... who had the nickname "bla bla..." during highschool?....stuff like that... we would have to get the yearbooks out to do this but he said he would happily help and that he would come up with more ideas...
Even maybe some kind of scavenger hunt.... Whatever he comes up with I think sounds great to me...

There's just a bit over 1 month left to send your cheques into Mim: $20.00 now, or $30.00 at the door. To date, I believe that Mim has received payment from 7 grads!!! Please keep in mind, that if Mim and I don't get the majority of the money up-front, either she or I are then having to pay the caterer directly out of our own pockets. I sent him an email to see if he was going to come to the reunion but thus far no answer :( Also Norm do you know the whearabouts of Mike Fedele and Pierre Dunant??? I spoke to Derek Svendson on the phone he told me he would be there and Steve Aillerie ( i dont know if i already mentioned that on a previous blurb on here... to lazy to look hehehhe)

Actually the only person I have been in contact with from high school is Tom, I have met the others sporatically but not enough to stay in contact with.

I recieved a E-mail from Tom a few days ago telling me that he probably won't be showing up and quite frankly I'm starting to doubt my presence also.

Evening All!!

Well, April 18th has come and gone!! We've received payments from 27 out of 83 confirmed guests. Not too bad, but I was hoping to have more. Taking into consideration that the 18th was a holiday, and the 21st is one, the date has been extended to April 25th for the cheques. This will be the final extension.

If you're on the South Shore, call me and you can drop the money or cheque off at my place. I've already had 3 people do that this weekend. Call before-hand to make sure I'm in: (home) 450-442-3945 or (cell) 514-885-3945. After that it's $30.00 per person at the door.

Please keep in mind that your name MUST be on the invitation list in order to get in. I must have an exact headcount for the caterer, and if more people show up than originally ancipated, then people MIGHT be turned away at the door. (I have 20 on the "maybe" list). If your name is NOT on the list, I will decide at the door what the decision wil be. Bit harsh: I don't think so!!!! As we have limited space at the Legion, I have to abide by their rules.

Just a quick update: Cheques are still rolling in, which is just fine with me. From the general e-mail that I sent out on the 19th, I only had 2 people contact me. I take that all of those who are confirmed, but have not yet payed, will indeed be paying the $30.00 at the door. :>)

The caterer is booked up and ready to go. Decorations are going to be picked up in the next coming week-ends. Music: It will be CDs, so if you can please bring some oldies, that would be appreciated. Please be sure to mark the CDs with your names. I'll have one person popping the CDs into the player, so this way, no CDs will be lost. Ummm.....what else?
Maps to the reunion will be sent out shortly. Those needing accomadations: I've found some places, and will be forwarding the info onto those of you who have asked me to.

My thanks to those of you who have managed to pass messages onto me on other '83 grads who are interested in attending. Mim and Sherry: You both are rock solid foundations for me!!

I see that my sister, Maria, has already left a message telling you that I am in Thailand at this time and will not be ablt to attend the reunion. I will only be back mid July. It's so too bad, I'd love to go! I hope it all works out well for everyone. A couple of weeks ago I submitted an entry to Denis Bernicky's section, Class of '83 but I see that it has yet to appear. In it I privided some details as to what I've been up to lately so I won't repeat myself here. Tania, maybe if you have a moment you could look into why my submission was not posted. Thanks. Also, to NORM DOUCET, you say that you work at the Auberges des Gouverneurs in St. Hyacinthe, yes? In the convention business? You must be familiar with Clarkson Conway. I worked as an exhibit service floor manager for Clarkson from 1990-1997. My Mother still works in the office at Clarkson. Are you familiar with the name Charles Rye, or Marilyn Meikle? I can't believe I never saw you all those years at the Hudon Deaudle show! How long have you worked there?

The following has been brought to my attention:

I've been getting a few e-mails from RVR Grads outside of the 1983 year inquiring if the reunion is still on. I've also heard that one member from a previous year plans on attending to "seek revenge" against a 1983 grad.

I am trying to rectify this "problem" by the following measures:

If you are attending outside of the 1983 year, it's $60.00 AT THE DOOR. If you're a Legion Member, show your card. If neither, then the Police will be called.

I'm not putting this 1983 reunion together to have it crashed by other years. I've spent the last 6 months working this, and I and others are looking forwards to having a fun time. The last thing I want is to have the Police involved.

So.....please respect my wishes that this remain a 1983 event. If you want to discuss this further, please feel free to voice your concerns to me:

Good to hear from you! Sorry to hear that you won't be able to make the reunion, but given that your in Thailand, it's kinda far to fly for the weekend!! I'll make sure that everybody in attendance gets your best wishes.

As for the "blurb" that you submitted to Denis: Give him some time to get it up. He runs the site by himself (along with having a job and a few kids running around!!!) and when he finds time, is when everything gets posted. You'll know when it's been posted when you receive his Monthy Newsletter.

Yep, it's been lots of work to date, and it's getting a lot busier, trust me!!! I have to get all of the decorations, meet with the caterer, get the 1st payment to the caterer, get maps out to everybody (next week), need to double check the music with Scott Standish, and check to make sure that all is well with the Legion. Whew!!!!!! No wonder the gray hairs are coming in faster than I can pluck them out!!!

Steve Duquette and Madeleine are both confirmed. Both have payed up front, so they'll be there!!

All in all, it's gonna be fun!!!!

S'cuse the interuption.... I was just browsing this thread and noticed the name Phil Morotti. I graduated in '82, but I failed math one year and Phil and I were in the same math class when I repeated grade 10 math.

Hi All,

4 days left until the Reunion!!! All is set for the party!!! I'll be with the caterer tomorrow giving the final numbers, decorations will be picked up on Friday, music will be a random choice of CDs (please feel free to bring your CD's: I'll take personal care of them), there's a message board being set up, and of course, the BAR has the final numbers!!!

Hopefully, Scott, Chuck and Rob will leave some beer for the rest of the party!!!

Unless something drastic happens between now and then, I do believe that this will be my final posting about the reunion. The next one will be the "Update" to give the rest of RVR a chance to read about the adventures of the '83 Reunion!!!

Hey All '83 Grads!

I just wanted to say I hope that you all enjoy the big bash this weekend. Tania, Mim and their die-hard band of helpers sound like they've really done a glorious job at getting this thing off and running. A sincere congratulations to all of you who have played a part in making this thing a reality.

I still regret that I can't make it out to see you all again in person. But, my band is playing this weekend in beautiful Victoria, BC, where we have been riding high on the radio charts over there with a Number One hit single for the past several weeks. We're really looking forward to it.

But, rest assured, even with all that is going on over here, I'll still be thinking about you all. I'm positively dying to see the photos from this thing!
