Oh and also We did have 2 walkouts last year both were a success! until we got transfered. It was becuase they had to do renovations on r.v.r. so we where stuck in longueil like i said before. The school in longeuil was not a radio station before but if you've ever heard about the show "Student Bodies" That is where they filmed it. I thought they did it in the states or somethin but i guess i was wrong. There is a secret room where they did the filming but they took off the door knob and you cant see through the window. No luck bashing the door in cuz it's next to the office. P.S. did i say that the new school is worse yet? Poor us huh? But probably not as worse as the people in the twin towers on that horrible day. I found out the end of that day that it happened cuz i was skipping with friends kinda. We went to the bell province and one of the guys who worked there told us. Well! You don't need to worry for us cuz we are alright in are new school. Lets hope it goes as well in cartier!

Hello Alex!
My name is Tania Fell, and I graduated from RVR in 1983......a long time ago!! I now of the school that you're talking about in Longueuil: across the street from the Caisse Populaire, and the Church. I've seen the RVR banner on the brick wall, facing East. I pass by the school everyday on my way to work. I do agree with you about the building itself...to look at that thing is awful. It's ugly and just run-down. God only knows how you and the other students manage to pass a full day in that place. You must be very strong individuals. Also, your dead-right about the restaurants on St. Charles St. Nothing cheap and easy on that street. I wish that I could recommend a restuarant that's in a student's budget, but I come up empty.
All I can say to you and your classmates, is to try and keep an open and positive mind on the situation. You've made it this far, so try and find the strength to carry on.
I'm sure that I can say a huge "Thank You" for this e-mail that you've posted informing all past students of the last days of RVR. Obviously the students who trashed the school have no respect for the "Old RVR". In 20 years time, they'll wish that they had never done it.
Anyways Alex, keep us posted on what's going on in the "new RVR". Hopefully one day, I'll get the chance to meet you and congratulate you on your school spirit......you seem to be an outstanding student, whom all fellow RVR students, (past and present) would be proud to call "My Friend.

Take care of yourself!!

Best regards

Tania Fell

hello i graduated in 97 and when i found out that they were closing rvr i found it so sad..I say the new RVR in Longueuil and it was the old adult school here in Longueuil...It's sad that the students did what they did to the old RVR..It's not the school's fault

I'm also a student who attends the new RVR at longueuil! I guess the most disapointing thing was that I was supposed to graduate this year. We tried many times to try to let our voices be heard, but sometimes we could of screamed at the top our lungs and no one would be listening. I wish that we could of stayed at RVR but it was not meant to happen. The Student Council have done an incredible job to try to reunite the school. They came in on their days off and decorated the whole school and one of the most amazing thing was that they took pictures of our murals at school and pasted them all over the school. That made me feel more at our home. When I first went in to the new school I was expecting to find a school with broken down walls cracks in the floor and mold on the walls, but what I found was a better floor then we had at RVR and the walls were cleaner and nicely painted and were better the RVR. The only thing that is not really nice is the basement. It's really old and dusty, but I count myself lucky because it could of been a lot worse. At the end of the first day the students trashed the top floor with news papers and garbage, I think this showed the kind of immaturerity of this school. I understand that you are upset but I can garantee you that these people that trashed the school didn't do it because they were upset, they did because it was an excuse to trash the school. How do you think the student council felt when all their hard work was pulled down and stepped all over. Don't get me wrong i'm really upset that we moved schools, but I've been there for a month now and this is the place that we have to call our school and we shouldn't destroy it. Before we used to be able to blame it on adult ed, but now we have no one to blame but ourselves.

When we did our walk out the first day it turned out really well. We portrayed our school with class and the teachers and staff supported us. The secound time we did the walk out, we had this father and I think his last name is Driver and he wanted us to go and block the 116. Now, the thing that gets me is that he has no children in this school and he's trying to keep the school open, but we were trying to do this walk out with class, but he turned it in to the opposite thing. He even went infront of the camera and started screaming at the principle and vice principle. I know i'm speaking for myself but I think that the our principal and vice principle have a done a wonderful job to try to keep the school open and always backed us up 100%. For Mr. Driver coming to the school and proposing such things and trashing the principle and vice principle that was too much for students to handle. One courages girl stood up for them infront of this man and stood behind them a 100% like they did for us.

Well I'll live it at this and thank-you for reading my comment even if you disagree with it or if you do agree with it. It's wonderful to know we have many people still supporting us after the move.

Thanks
Mel

Thanks. It's truly how I feel though some people might disagree with me. If you ever have any questions on anything about the school, I'll be checking the website everyday. Feel free to ask!

Hi everyone,

Please be advised that the information that Alex gave out regarding the name of the New Merged High School has not been decided yet. As with his previous postings, the information is not true. I'm not sure where Alex is getting his information, but it is incorrect.

The Council of Commissioners has not decided upon the name yet, and I'm sure when they do, they'll notify the Steering Committee (of which I am a member), and we will then release the information to the schools and students. At this time, as I'm sure most of you will understand, we're focusing on the important things like scheduling, registration, cours selection, staffing and a host of other important things.

Thank you!
