Well! It's been a year since I last updated the Moose Page. Since I don't have any recent pictures I'll just highlight where I'm at with the project.
FWF....the engine is out and hanging on the ceiling hoist. Valve covers are cleaned, repainted hi-temp black engine paint and the insides coated with Glyptol. The oil sump was removed, cleaned (de-sludged) and ready to be reinstalled. Cam and valve train was inspected while sump was off...all looks great. Oil screen was removed and found to be completely sludged up....probably bypassing all the time :^( Last owner never did an oil change it seems. The injectors were cleaned and ready to go back on. Fuel system is inspected and new hoses installed. Injector lines are corroded so will be replaced. Mags are old but servicable.
Prop and Governor went to Warner Propeller here in Tucson where Dennis Warner gave me the bad news.....mucho corrosion so the blades are probably toast! Ag chemicals and aluminum are natural enemies. This is a McCauley threaded hub (dreaded threaded) so I'm reluctant to put a lot of money there...probably go with a 3-blade McCauley...very sexy!
Instrument panel is done and unique. No other Agwagon has this kind of setup. The scan is simple and everything logical.
Check back soon for pictures.......I promise!

All the work on the cockpit should result in a logical and functional layout. I'm leaving the primary engine instruments on the upper sub-panel. At low level I don't want to search for oil pressure or RPM...just a glance to check engine health. This will be a superb back-country camper! These 300HP, Normal Catagory Agwagons are starting to become available and I can build one just like it for you...call or E-Mail for details.
