| Our background: We both grew up near the small, rural town of Lockwood, Missouri. Leslie attended the Lutheran school and Ryan attended public school so we never met until near the end of high school. We started dating Leslie's senior year and continued to date (long distance) all through college. Leslie attended Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska, and Ryan attended the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. We finally got married (July 7, 2001) after we both graduated; Leslie with a degree in special and elementary education and Ryan with a degree in psychology. What's up with us now: We're currently living in Columbus, Ohio, where Ryan is finishing up his Ph.D. at Ohio State University, and Leslie is teaching special education at Hannah-Ashton Middle School in Reynoldsburg. Ryan's studying social psychology at OSU, and Leslie is officially a 6th grade intervention specialist at her school and has completed her masters degree (for school counseling) through the University of Dayton. |
