Falling asleep from where he was standing, Commander Hunter wanted Grey this morning to talk but the worse thing was it was at five o’clock in the morning. Leaning on his lancet and nodding off, Grey heard a noise and then became alert to find out it was only a bird or something. Then once again he would nod off until he heard another noise but didn’t even bother to look up. Then there was an unwelcoming sound coming from the front gate. It was being opened by something other than the guards.
“HEY!” Grey yelled as he took off towards the gate, raising his lancet head up Grey got ready to drive it though the thing that was coming in.
“Put that away you fool.” Rye snapped as she grabbed the tip.
“Rye… I thought you were in your room? How did you get pass…?” Grey started as he looked over her bloody body and a child hiding behind her. “Ryden what happened!” Grey jumped as he was beginning to feel a little frantic.
“Things happened-” Rye stated the obvious, “-where is my brother?” Rye panted as she looked to Grey with fatigued eyes.
“I’ll take you, but you need to see a healer too.” Grey proclaimed.
“Healer later: brother now.” Rye commanded as she started to walk down the stone pathway, leaving a trail of blood behind her as the child spoke ever so softly to her. Noticing the child was a human Grey felt a little confused why Rye was bringing a human child into an Elven base. Had she really lost it?
Pushing open the commanders door, Carmon turned to face Grey with confusion as he studied over a book but dropped it to see Rye wounded and leaving blood.
“What happened?” Carmon demanded as he jumped over his desk to Rye and Grey. Shrugging her shoulders, Rye let her hand spill down the door as she sighed heavily. A thick mocking blood smear slid across the door panels.
“This happens when you try to fight and truly think you’re invincible.” Rye wheezed.
“My Lord, she was taking me to my father but then he captured her and threatened to kill her and then Ryen somehow got away. She beat my father for striking me and then we had a lot of men surround us, but she protected me with all the arrows flying at us.” The child yammered childishly.
“Grey fetch a healer right now and tell the guards to double up at each post.” Carmon commanded as he lifted Rye’s face to his. Darting out of the door, he should have figured he was going to be the messenger again. Seemed as if that was what he was really good for.
“Is this the proper way for a guardian to act?” Carmon asked as there was hinting grin hiding behind his cold stare.
“Don’t know? I’m still trying to figure that out.” Rye joked lightly as she swatted his hand away.
Carmon rose up to his height, just trying to look threatening to her. “Sit down Rye. You can’t afford much more blood.”
“I’m sorry Rye and I thank you so much for saving me.” Melena whimpered quietly to her. Nodding her respond, Carmon didn’t even bat a suspicious towards either of them.
Waving her hand back a forth, Rye was more or less utterly determined to have it her way. “No sitting. It hurts too much right now. Standing suits right now.” Rye spoke stubbornly.
“Sit down Ryden.” A friendly voice commanded. Lifting her gaze to six women Rye smiled softly and nodded. Although she was completely shocked to see the others here and dressed down in full battle armour.
“Yes ma’am.” Rye flopped herself into a chair as she almost cursed in more ways than one.
Carmon stepped forward as he once again tried to look a little bit threatening. Rye shook her head as she watched a couple of the girls giggle to themselves as if to say ‘As if buddy.’
“Who are you guys and why do you think you can just barge into my office?” Carmon commanded as Melena slipped behind him.
“We are the other six Guardians and we sensed that Rye need are help with this war.” The one that told Rye to sit down smiled gently.
“Actually we knew. Just knowing Rye you know she is always looking for trouble.” Another smirked as there was a conceited grin on her face.
“Har har.” Rye laughed scornfully.
“Rye you need to be healed.” Faith directed as Rye was ready to put up a fight. “So shut up and take it.”
“We’ll introduce ourselves Carmon; let me do the honours of that.” Marty smirked. “I am the first Guardian, Marty. Faith is the second, Lena is the fourth, Joey is the fifth, Kyran is the sixth, and Neera is the seventh.” Marty spoke as she pointed to each woman.
“Rye you’re the third guardian?” Carmon asked as there was a hint of something in his eyes that Rye couldn’t put her finger on.”
“Yes” Rye jumped as she squeezed her fingers into the perfect shape to wring Faith’s neck. “Stop poking at me! It hurts you know.” Rye joked as she looked towards the white headed woman in front of her.
“I never thought I be alive still when I would hear Ryden Hunter complain about her wounds” Kyran laughed as she crossed her arms.
“Oh leave her alone Kyran, you too complain about less important things anyways; Rye has a right to whine because she did something honourable… But I could be wrong.” Lena sighed as she looked over to Rye who was mocking her by pretending her hand was talking. Turning her eyes to Lena, Rye laughed nervously.
“Sorry but you always lecture us.” Rye smirked.
“It’s true Lena” Neera smirked also as she placed a hand on Lena’s shoulder.
Feeling someone poking her again, Rye turned her attention to Faith as she looked furiously over Rye. “Where is your book Rye?”
‘How does she always know when I do something wrong?’ Rye asked herself. “Uh… well… ah ha wouldn’t you know…. I kinda dropped it into the fire…” Rye stumbled as she turned bright red.
“You burnt your book…” Marty blinked slowly. “Man I wish I thought of that when I had mine.” Marty grinned.
“Its not something to be promoting Marty.” Faith scolded.
“Come on Faith you should know that we all hated that book and it didn’t really help us defeat the walls of magic.” Neera spoke as Lena backed off a bit.
“Blah, bla blah that is all I hear from the six of you. We have more important issues on are hands and plus I think if you guys bicker anymore, you’re going to make my brother go mad.” Rye indicated with a point with her thumb towards Carmon who was shaking his head in confusion once more.
“I think I’m already crazy.” Carmon mumbled making the six other guardians laugh and giggle.
“I concur with that” Rye muttered under her breath. Clapping her hands Rye was going to bring this place to business no matter what now. “Well guys I think we had better start planning out what we are going to do and how we are going to win this war!”
“Carmon how long has this war been going on?” Joey enquired as she walked up to the door and shut it.
“Almost two months.” Carmon drummed his fingers on the desk. “Besides each side capturing an enemy and putting them to death nothing great has broken out but it seems that is becoming stretched out now because the Rio army is getting ready to attack.” Carmon answered as his soft blue eyes traced over Rye and then to Joey.
“I’ve got the worse feeling in the pit of my stomach at the moment, does anyone else?” Lena blurted as she placed a hand on her stomach.
“You have indigestion.” Neera grinned. Hearing the door slam open, everyone eyes were drawn up to Grey wheezing at the door and then fell over.
“That was graceful, Grey.” Rye smirked as she walked over to him on the ground.
Leaning over Kyran began whispering softly. “Grace mustn’t be his forte.” A couple giggles drifted in the air.
“Y-you’re…healed… … H…H-how?” Grey huffed as he sat up and leaned against the door.
“You’d be surprised Grey but that is not important right now,” Rye smiled softly as she turned back to Carmon. “Carmon do you have a map of the whole Battle field?” Raising an eyebrow Carmon reached behind his desk and pulled open his bottom drawn. Grabbing Grey’s hand and pulling him up, Rye looked to each guardian and then seen a ton of maps go flying all around the room, as one hit her in the forehead.
Rye glared murderously, “Ouch! Is this your way of telling me that you had enough of me for today Carmon? THROWING A MAP AT ME!”
“At least it got your attention.” Faith grinned childishly.
“You had better be careful Faith.” Marty smirked slyly.
Picking up the yellowed map from the ground, Carmon pinned its back against the wall. Gathering around the map like moths to a flame, Rye heard a couple low murmurs about what was the point of pulling out a map. Did they not already know the area of the enemy? Running her finger along the Blood River, it seemed to be jumping out at her; also screaming out a cry that demanded the utmost attention.
Rye tapped her finger along the paper. “Carmon where does Adam live again?” Rye requested as she flipped her hair out of her face with a slow examining look peering over her slender shoulder.
Carmon wrinkled his nose in wonder. “Beside the Blood River.” Carmon eyed her strangely “Don’t you remember he said that was the best place for capturing wild Mustang’s… why?”
Rye shook her head. “I don’t know but I have a bad feeling there is something up” Rye suggested as she hinted something to her brother. “Dunno I think it’s either that or I am just going insane.”
“I am betting on the insane one.” Marty joked as Rye snorted towards her.
“Are you suggesting that we pull in your mighty number of brothers to help against this war?” Kyran question boldly. Rye tapped her nose quickly as they all turned their heads to the groans of Carmon.
“What is the problem with that?” Rye questioned.
“Well I think only a couple would give us some help Rye.” Walking up to Carmon, Rye rapped her knuckles on Carmon’s head as she glared at him.
“Hello? Anyone in there?” Rye sniped. “All of them are helpful to this cause. You should know that Carmon since father sent you all away for three months to… crap what was that called again…” Rye stopped as she rubbed her eyes.
“Mission Muerte you mean?” Carmon rubbed his head.
A slow awe floated around the room as if everyone actually knew that the hell; her and Carmon were talking about. It was just the waiting for someone to explain that they were waiting for.
“I’ve heard of that. Isn’t that something fathers send there undisciplined sons too, to try a make them learn how it is to be in the… army?” Joey snorted.
“Ironic ain’t it?” Kyran exhaled.
“Well let’s just say all my brothers were a huge pain in my father’s ass. But anyways they all should be helpful primarily Zeek, Brock, Kion, and Milo.” Rye shot a finger out. “So send a messenger after them to get them here or I’ll personally go forth and get them Carmon.” Rye answered with her impulse’s yelling at her.
“I don’t know…” Carmon started but then was stopped short by people yelling and shouting.
“Carmon don’t be doubt me now!” Rye barked.
Grey finally rose to his stature again as Carmon followed his rise. “Lord Hunter I will company Rye with this but also I think we may need more than one messenger to reach all your brothers. I might suggest three others.” Grey nodded towards Rye as she smiled softly.
“Smart… smart. Alright Marty, Lena, and Faith please go fetch my brother Jay in Ganglier plus you must venture it Moon Island to get Brock and Kion. Joey, Kyran, and Neera you must go to Little-falls to get Milo.” Carmon commented calmly as following nods came after each assignment.
“Then Grey and I will travel to Drago to get Zeek and Regan.” Rye stated as she pointed to each place on the map. “Oh this is gonna be fun!” A couple of the girls chuckled at her comment as Grey posted himself behind her.
“I’ll send two men to go accompany Adam and Darren here since they don’t live that far away.” Carmon grinned as he fussed up Rye’s hair.
“I’ve always hated with you do that,” Complained Rye as she smoothed her hair back as if nothing had ever happened. “Well Carmon you have to watch Melena here.”
“But Ryen I want to come with you guys… please.” Melena pouted as she stuck out her lip.
“This is way too dangerous.” Neera spoke in a mother like tone.
Rye pointed, “That’s going to get annoying… But Melena I need you to stay here with Garth to make sure that he doesn’t eat anybody, plus you can show him how to catch a rabbit eh. You know how to do that right?” Requested Rye as she bent down to Melena with a sly smile upon her face. It was just a way to keep her here and not have to hear all the whines and complaining.
“Yes ma’am! I’ll make you proud.” Melena laughed.
“We will be off now Sir and I’ll make sure Rye comes back in one piece.” Grey promised. Elbowing Joey, Marty whispered something to her making her burst out laughing.
“I think you better make sure you come back in one piece Grey, not Rye.” Faith smirked as she over heard Marty. Grey blinked a little as he wasn’t too sure at what they were getting at.
“You are so lucky I don’t know how to use any fire magic yet.” Rye warned as she walked out the door but popped back in for a sec, “Later’s Bro” With a wave she dashed out the door with Grey following behind.
