The first step that should always be taken when troubleshooting you High Speed Cable Internet connection is to Power Cycle the cable modem and to reboot you computer:
1) Unplug the power to the Cable Modem (Usually works best if unplugged from the wall outlet and NOT the back of the modem).
2) Shut down the computer (Do not restart).
3) After 1 - 11/2 mins, plug the modem back in. Wait for the modem to gain synch. (either solid- Cable, RF or Online light)
4) Turn you computer on.
5) And check for connectivity. Usually you will be good to go!
6) If your modem does not regain synch you will have to contact your Cable Provider for a possible outage or to schedule a technician to come out and check your RF values.

This will usually solve the problem 9/10 times.
Now first things first. What are the lights on you cable modem going. Please refer to the Modem belows for a discription of what the lights should be doing.
