I asked Mom (now 97) yesterday why she named me Connie Marie Harris. Her answer was this: she named my sister Peggy Lou because there was a sign on Route 9L on the way over to Lake George village that said Peggy Lou on it and she loved the name. But she had no idea why she named me Connie Marie. Guess I'm lucky she didn't see the signs over there that said Takundewide or Wiawaki. She might have named me one of those. I never had a nickname. When I was a child, Peggy got to sign everything for both of us (don't know why) and always signed them Peggy Lou and Connie too (probably at Dad's suggestion). I suppose I went through a time of thinking my name was Connie Too. It's a good thing my first name has stayed the same, since I've changed my last name several times . .

My father gave me my name,he liked the movie star Constance Bennett. She was popular in the 1930's. So I ended up with her name as my first name and Beverly as a middle name.

My mom wanted to name me Jennifer and my real dad wanted my name to be Jenny. My mom calls me Jen-Jen which grandma Harris started calling me when I was a baby.

My mom named me. As a child she would name her dolls Heidi. She also liked the book Heidi of the Alps. My nickname is Hide. I guess it is just short for Heidi. Mom and dad always called me that when I was a "good girl". It just stuck.

As far as my name, the story goes like this. When I was born my mother told the that I was a girl. She insisted that it was a boy. When she was convinced I was a girl they had to come up with a name. They only had only a boy's name. My father wanted to name me Lydia Lois but my mother said no. My Aunt (father's sister) wanted Ann. So they comprised and named my Lois Ann. I never had a nick name because my name was so small.

My parents gave me my name, I was named for both of my grand mothers my first name (Lucy) after my mom's mother and my middle name (Margaret) after my dad's mother. I didn't have a nickname.

My parents gave me my name :P Um... my nick name is Re Re because I couldn’t ever say my own name when people would ask when I was younger. But my friends call me either Christy because of my middle name or Kitty because I supposedly act like the mother from the TV show "That 70s Show"... I don’t see how I do... *shrug*
