31. Did your family have a favorite saying? What was it, and how did you feel about it?

I thought about this questions and I can't remember any thing as a family we would say again and again.

32. Did your family have a favorite meal or recipe? Could you share the recipe with us?

I have been thinking about this question. I think I have found a receipe I think you might like. These are my Christmas butter cookies. I make them every year. The receipes goes as follows: 1/2 cup butter or margarine, 1/2 cup crisco shortening solid, 1/3 cup sugar, 2 teaspoon water, 2 teaspoons vanilla, 2 cups flour, food coloring optional, colored food sprinkles optional. Cream butter & crisco together. Add sugar gradually, beating until light and fluffy. Stir in combination of water and vanilla. Stir in flour little at a time. Add food coloring if wanted. Mix until well until all is colored. Put in cookie press and put on ungreased cookie sheet. add sugar sprinkles at this time if wanted. Cook in oven at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until slighty browned. (Lois' Christmas Cookies)

33. Do you have a family heirloom? What is it and what will you do with it?

As far as the family Heirloom goes, I don't have any. I do have family photos and those I treasure. I will probably pass them onto my one of my nieces and she probably give them to her daughter.

I am making scrapbooks and making known who the people are and around what year give or that some time when they were taken. I think that is the best inheirtence we have.

34. Do you have a funny family story you can share?

I remember one time my mother, brother(Joe) and I went to Pennsylvania to meet my other brother(Tom) and his wife and Kids. We deceided we were going to Hershey, Pa from our Hotel. We were following each other in our cars. We made one turn and down this road and out came these people with shotguns and thought we were invading their properties. You never saw 2 cars make a quick U-turn and make out way back up the road and on our way. We finally made it to Hershey, Pa. and had a good time.

35. What is your favorite color? Do you prefer silver or gold?

I think this is an easy questiion. My favorite colors are red, white and blue. I think I was always associated with these colors because I was born on July 5. I favor silver over gold. I just like the coolness of of silver.

36. Who gave you your name and why? Did you have a nickname? How did you get it?

As far as my name, the story goes like this. When I was born my mother told the that I was a girl. She insisted that it was a boy. When she was convinced I was a girl they had to come up with a name. They only had only a boy's name. My father wanted to name me Lydia Lois but my mother said no. My Aunt (father's sister) wanted Ann. So they comprised and named my Lois Ann. I never had a nick name because my name was so small.

37. Tell us a memory of your childhood.

I really can't think of anything memorable. The only thing that really stood out was the Vietnam War. I wrote to soldiers over there. We put out names the military paper as pen pals. I couldn't believe how many responses I received.

I finally thought about this question. I think the most memorable childhood memory was after my grandfather Gagne died. I was only 10 years old. The summer after he died my Mom, brother and Iwent to stay with my grandmother. We used to sleep in the upstairs bedroom. My grandmother said she was not opening the upstairs and my Mom and me could sleep in the room my grandfather slept in. One night we were sleeping and we both work up because it felt like someone was sitting on the foot of the bed. My Mom spoke and said Dad we are all okay and the mattress went back to normal. My Mom was close to her father and we really thought he was checking up on the family. I got a little scared but my Mom said not to worry.

38. Tell us a memory of your teenage years.

The following memories of my teenage years are varied. I remember getting a job for the first time. I had to get working papers because I was under 18 years old. I was a tutor for the public school system during the summer, then I was I was a cashier in a supermaket. I think the things that stick out most was graduating from high school and how proud my parents were. My grandmother Gagne even came down for the graduation. Then that summer the astronauts landing on the moon and getting to see them when they had the ticker tape parade in NYC for them. It was very exciting.

39. Tell us an experience you had as a parent.

40. What advice or words of wisdom would you leave your family, friends and others?

The advice I love to leave my family, friends and all others is very simple. That they should love, appriecate family and live life to it fullest. Question life and accept life. Be who you are and don't expect others to do your work if possible. Be kind to all and just enjoy.
