Objectives:
1. Students will use different media,
techniques, and processes to communicate ideas, experiences, and stories.

a safe and responsible manner.
3. Students will learn about and be able to create
a self-portrait.
4. Students will learn about and use the collage
technique.
5. Students will understand the differences
between materials, techniques, and processes.
Materials
(include type, size, and amount): for 25
students
-30 sheets of white construction
paper 12x18, pre-cut for mounting purposes
-30 sheets of assorted construction
paper 12x18, for mounting
-Elmers glue, 20-25 bottles
-Assorted crayons, if possible a set
of 8 for each student
-25 pairs of scissors (for collage,
torn pages will work if necessary)
-25 small mirrors for self-portrait
study
-Large bin of collage materials:
yarn, magazines, fabric etc.

-Pre-made example

-Scissors are not necessary if students cannot
handle safely

-Assign student an art buddy to help
with tasks

-Student created a self-portrait
including eyes, nose, mouth, ears, hair, neck, hat
-Student successfully collaged
materials onto hat to create unique hat

communication through a variety of mediums
