Objectives

Students will create a found object sculpture as a tribute to Louise Nevelson.

Students will create a found object sculpture with a  theme using an old shoe.

Use mixed media and found objects to create a wacky monument.

Description

Using boxes and found objects, students will create a sculpture and paint it one color, like that of Louise Nevelson .

Students will bring in an old shoe of any kind and use found objects to create a thematic sculpture. (i.e. ballet slipper with ballet theme)

Students will use found objects and mixed materials to create a wacky monument or trophy.  (i.e. a trophy for the tackiest lawn decorations)

Materials

Found objects (including different sized boxes), glue, spray paint in black/gold.

Shoe, found objects, glue, paint, mixed media

Found objects, mixed media, glue, 3-D materials, drawings, photographs, paint
