Materials

students
-20 pieces of 12”x18” white
watercolor paper
-Large box of assorted tissue paper
scraps
-20 watercolor sets with brushes
-20 Dixie cups with water
-Newspaper for tables
-Assorted oil pastels
-20 Dixie cups with diluted glue

-Cover tables in newspaper
-Fill Dixie Cups with water
-Fill Dixie Cups with diluted glue
Motivation/Demonstration:
-Read The Rainbow Fish to class
-Demonstrate how to create underwater watercolor and
oil pastel scene with tissue paper collaged fish.
Project/Classroom
Procedure:
-After first drawing out with pencil, students will
use watercolors and oil pastels to create an underwater scene, noting that
watercolors do not react with oil pastels.
Once dry, students will use diluted glue and tissue paper scraps to
create a collaged rainbow fish.

Considerations:
-Make sure students use materials in
a safe and responsible manner.
Adaptations
for Students with Special Needs:
-Assign an art buddy to help with
difficult tasks.
