When you say you had a bad day,
I wish I could just take it all away.
When you say what you go through,
I wish I could be there for you.
When you don’t know what to do,
I wish that the answers I knew.
When I don’t see the joy in your eye,
I feel like on the inside I could die.
That joy that can make my heart fly,
The lack of can make me almost cry.
Why can’t you live your life,
Without ever facing strife?
Why can’t you step outside,
And watch the world just slide?
Watch from a safe place,
With no difficulties to face.
When I can’t give this to you,
It turns my skies to gray from blue.
As long as you’re going through pain,
Trust that my heart feels the rain.
I’m glad you trust in me,
I wish the answers I could see.
