Very rare, and almost impossible to find, this
instrument was made for a very limited time to commemorate the 12th year of collaboration between Ibanez and Jazz Great, George Benson.
A very limited number of these were hand-made in Japan and this is #224.
The guitar was purchased NEW around Sept. 1990. I just loved the sound of the instrument: it's the only axe I know that sounds good anywhere, live or in the studio.
Unfortunately, I could never quite get used to its string spacing and neck width. Being used to classical guitars this is just too narrow for me and as a result it hardly gets played anymore.
I have had the neck re-finished violin style by a well known Luthier as I don't like the feel of thick, glossy finshes. Also, the pickguard was modified to allow space for my fingers.
This instrument is in excellent conditions, never repaired for any reasons. It's perfect.
