1998年,新捷運引進了一輛獨一無二的瑞典紳佳L94UB單層巴士,配澳洲Volgren CR221L車身,並成為全新加坡第二輛低地台巴士。紳佳L94UB是一款後置引擎底盤,引擎被縱置在車尾;買家可按其需要,選擇兩軸或三軸的設計,而新捷運這部SBS2888T則屬於兩車軸十二米設計。此巴士配備先進的碟式剎車系統,能夠提供既穩定、又平均的減速;加上其ABS系統,能大大提高巴士的行車穩定性及安全。另一方面,原廠的引擎符合現代汽車廢氣排放標準,能有效減低廢氣裡所含的有害物質。

  為宣傳這輛巴士的先進設計,新捷運特別於車身兩旁貼上宣傳字句,並譽其為"廿一世紀巴士"。SBS2888T曾服務於7號路線,而現在則行走85號路線,往返盛港總站及世貿中心,並以標準新捷運車隊色彩示人。

    In 1998, SBS Transit introduced its only Swedish-built Scania L94UB single-decker, with an Australian-built Volgren CR221L body. It became the second super low floor bus to serve in Singapore.

    Scania L94UB is a city bus chassis with its engine being fitted at the rear horizontally. Purchasers can choose between 2-axle and 3-axle design depending on their need, where SBS2888T belongs to 2-axle, 12-metre design. The disc brakes on the bus provide stable retardation, while the ABS ensures safe operation. What is more, the advanced Scania-built engine can effectively reduce the hazardous chemicals produced.

    SBS2888T is regarded as "21st Century Bus", with slogans on both sides of the bus to publicize its up-to-date design. It used to serve rt. 7 in the past, and it is now serving rt. 85 which terminates in Sengkang and World Trade Centre. The bus has been painted in standard SBS Transit livery.
