I lived In Madrid from September 1999 to September 2000

where I studied spanish at the "Escuela Oficial de Idiomas" and
started working for the Madrid Secretariat of the 
European Forum for Renewable Energy Sources - an independent, non-profit organisation that aims to promote the use of renewable energy 
(I still work for them but now in Brussels) 
While I was there we organised a conference on the Island of (Portugal)
