I am presently at the School of Library and Information Science, Indiana University, Bloomington . I am working with Prof. Katy Borner and Prof. Robert Goldstone in a James S. McDonnell project that aims to model the structure and evolution of scholarly knowledge on a global scale.

Before this I was at the Physics Department, Indiana University, Bloomington where I was working on the
rheological aspects of foams. Foams are Non-Newtonian fluids which are useful not only in our kitchens
but also in various industries (such as  the Petroleum  industry).   Surprised  ??  If  you want to know
more about them follow the link above and check out my research activities.

I got my doctorate from the Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar,
where I worked on phase transitions and topological defects in the early universe and in relativistic
heavy ion collisions. My primary interest there was the quark-hadron phase transition.

Apart from my research activities, I am  also  interested  in science  teaching  and  science  popularisation.
In the links section, I am trying to compile a list of links to various sites which may be useful to students
pursuing science as a career in India.

My other hobbies are music and reading.  I also share a passion for travelling with my husband, whose
other hobby is photography. Hence, at times, I get to act as his assistant too !!
