The Minoan Brotherhood |
The Minoan Brotherhood is a men's ritual witchcraft tradition formed in New York in 1976 through the work of Eddie Buczynski. Eddie was an Elder of the New York Welsh, Gardnerian, and Wica Traditions who felt the time had come to create a place where gay and bisexual men could honour the Gods and working Witchcraft in a setting which was supportive of their sexuality. The basis of the Brotherhood's ritual form lies within Gardnerian Witchcraft and it works with a variety of Aegean and Near Eastern practices influenced by the Queer Sensibilities of its Elders. Little information has been published on the Minoan Brotherhood or its sister tradition, the Minoan Sisterhood because the both branches of the Minoan Tradition are highly secretive, and their groups function autonomously, so no one group can speak for another. For further information on the Minoan Brotherhood, the Minoan Sisterhood, or the Cult of the Double Axe/Circle of Rhea, which represent the three branches of the Minoan Tradition feel free to contact us at StarDove Coven Elders and we will forward your email to an Elder of the Minoan Tradition near you. The Minoan Brotherhood, the Minoan Sisterhood, and the Cult of the Double Axe/Circle of Rhea are NOT affiliated in any manner with The (Heterosexual) Minoan Fellowship or the Minoan Temple centred in New York City. Lady Miw of Enchantments, an Elder and Founding HPS of the Minoan Sisterhood, among several other Elders of the Minoan Tradition via the Brotherhood and Sisterhood do NOT acknowledge them as licit descendants of our Ways. We do not have four degrees of Initiation and Minoan Initiations are properly performed in single-gender rites by licit Elders of the 3rd* Degree. May the Gods Preserve the Craft! |
