Sabre was signed by CWF President Deacon Corso on the 8th of September 2001, he was scheduled to meet Omen on the next CWF card but that match was cancelled for understandable reasons. The following card was also cancelled when Deacon Corso quit the CWF. He was replaced by Omen who booked Sabre in a match against El Nutso this match was a semi final match in the hardcore title tournament to find the first ever CWF hardcore champion. Sabre pinned El Nutso after hitting him with a barbed wire covered two by four to progress to the final of the tournament to face the winner of a match between Joe Jackson and Taylor Reade. Undoubtably he would have gone to beat either of those opponents but the match didn't take place because following the Sabre - El Nutso Match, Omen closed down the CWF becasue it was in too much debt.
