A Bit of Chapter History...
Several women at WVU became interested in starting a sorority for agriculture majors. With the help of the Brothers of Alpha Gamma Rho, our charter sisters were able to bring the national president to speak with prospective members. WVU became a SID in October of 1992. During our SID period, the chapter was honored with four awards at National Convention. Dr. Edna McBreen served as our first advisor until her departure from the University. The Chi Chapter was activated on January 15, 1994. Since then, it has grown to include as many as 35 active members and one of the organization's few alumni associations.

Membership...

Membership in Sigma Alpha is open to any female student who is pursuing a degree within the Davis College of Agriculture, Forestry, and Consumer Sciences here at WVU, who maintains the required GPA and is involved in one other organization. Membership may also be open to individuals majoring in undergraduate courses other than those in the Davis College, who have a strong interest in agriculture. The percentage of non-agriculture majors must remain under 30% of the total membership of the chapter.
