The Yearning
By Dekora

It seems everywhere I look now days, when it comes to spirituality, mainly new age approaches, there is a yearning to return 'home', wherever one views that to be. There have been several things coming up recently, starting with someone I greatly admire who keeps an online journal too. This young man has been getting very wrapped up in the spiritual aspects of being and in one entry he actually admits that he is more interested in the inside world rather than his own life in the outside world. This greatly concerned me, for I have seen it before not only in others, but in myself.

Then another person I admire, started writing about how he feels this incessant yearning to go home, he says he is lonely and like he would rather be with his friends in spirit than those on the earthly plane. Again, we see a desire to leave the earth plane, even though we have chosen to be here.

Then a friend sent me this poem and again we are confronted with a choice to be in the physical world, yet a yearning to be somewhere else. There is a lot of talk about remembering why we came here, and claims that we are here to heal the planet, or bring about the ascension, or fight the aliens, or whatever else... yet I would propose something else altogether just for the hell of it.

I propose that we are here to experience life, in all its ups and downs, all its joys and pain, and that we have indeed forgotten that. We have forgotten that we are here to experience the physical as well as the spiritual and so that is why we find the physical so sad and unworthy, that we want to leave it and return 'home'. When we speak of remembering why we are here, let's remember the whole purpose, not just the spiritual side!

Most New Age people, will claim we are all One. It's not a doctrine I adhere to, however I do believe we are all interconnected. I also believe we contain within us the potential to be anything. So to deny any one thing, we deny a part of ourselves. Thus, denying the physical world, is a denial of not only why we came here, but of the physical denser parts of our being. And it puts us out of balance to deny it.

The loneliness I have felt in the last year, though no longer thankfully. I believe it truly was our guides stepping back to challenge us, to come into our own power, and to be independent. Not all have experienced this, perhaps it is because they were not ready to stand alone, perhaps they have been standing alone denying their guides so long they did not feel it, or perhaps they were just not sensitive enough, but deep down, I have felt the aloneness.

In the Osho Zen Tarot there is a card that talks about aloneness. For some people it may apply. It reads as follows... "When you are alone you are not alone, you are simply lonely - and there is a tremendous diffeence between loneliness and aloneness. When you are lonely you are thinking of the other, you are missing the other. Loneliness is a negative state. You are feeling that it would have been better if the other was there - your friend, your wife, your mother, your beloved, your husband (note by Dekora "your God, your Guides, your spiritual friends!). It would have been good if the other was there, but the other is not. Loneliness is absence of the other. Aloneness is the presence of oneself. Aloneness is very positive. It is a presence, overflowing presence. You are so full of presence that you can fill the whole universe with your presence and there is no need for anybody."

I feel that it is very appropriate in these moments to read that passage. To know that there is a difference between being alone, and being lonely. The lonely people are the yearners, and to me, they are missing something important while they yearn (not that I judge it!). They are missing the feeling of being One with Self, all of self, the spiritual and the physical.

Open Your Arms To Receiving
By Patricia J. Crane

Did you know that there is enough money on this planet for everyone (yes, everyone) to have a million dollars? So why is it that Bill Gates has billions, others have a million, and others have only a small amount? The answer is simple: consciousness. Each of us has played out the beliefs from childhood about deservability and money to create whatever we have in our lives right at this moment. If all the billions on the planet were redistributed tomorrow and no one changed their consciousness about money, it would all be back to the same people in the same amounts in about six months. Are you willing to change your consciousness right now about what you deserve to receive?

Take a few minutes to sit quietly. Close your eyes and allow your mind to gently drift back in time to some significant experience about money when you were growing up. What happened? What was the belief you developed from that experience? If it was limiting, imagine yourself as that child and begin to tell the child that it’s time to create a new set of ideas about money that are expansive and supportive. Tell the child what those new affirmations are. If the experience you remembered helped you with positive thoughts about money, reinforce those with your inner child.

Ask yourself: who would you betray if you were financially successful? When I ask that question in my courses, the answer is often mom or dad (or both.) Somehow, the child part feels guilty going beyond the parents’ limitations. You can close your eyes and talk to mom or dad, or anyone else who had a significant influence on your prosperity beliefs, and tell them that it’s OK for both of you to be prosperous and successful. Go to the mirror and do the same thing. Be willing to go past old limitations. When you accept your prosperity, you also encourage others to do the same. Your life can be an example of willingness to receive from our abundant universe. “Prosperity,” in my definition, is specifically about money and materials things, while “abundance” has to do with a full life in all areas.

As you go about your daily routine for the next few days, be aware of your thoughts about money and material things. Do you tell yourself you can’t have things? Pay attention to your thoughts when you go to spend money. Notice what you think about people that seem to have a lot of money and people that seem to have little money. When you become aware of thoughts that are limiting, create an affirmation for the new belief. If the limiting belief is “I never have enough money to pay my bills,” the new affirmation could be “I always have enough money to pay my bills ahead of time and still have plenty left over for fun.”

I like to think about the Universe as a Cosmic Kitchen with an Infinite Menu. When I create an affirmation, it is sent to the Cosmic Chef with enthusiasm, trust, and gratitude that it will be fulfilled at exactly the right time. While the order it being prepared, I go about my daily life with joy.

CAUTION: Affirmations are not intended to be an excuse so that you can spend money irresponsibly. Running up large credit card bills while affirming that the Universe will take care of them is not good money management. There are three parts to money matters: mental/emotional matters, practical matters, and spiritual matters. First, you need to identify the old beliefs and emotions about money that no longer serve you. Then you want to create affirmations for the new beliefs. Next, you need to be honest with yourself about the practical matters. Are you balancing your checkbook and paying off credit cards each month? Create a plan to handle the practical money matters. Third, you must recognize that the Universe is your Source, not a job and not a person.

It does take faith and trust to believe that you deserve prosperity when you’re looking at your checkbook and there is $100 in your account and the rent that is due is $500. In my experience, regular meditation is a key factor is connecting with Inner Wisdom to feel a sense of trust when faced with a challenging situation. In that place of quiet, you can listen for guidance and also send out your affirmations to the Cosmic Kitchen from a powerful place. Whenever I’ve been faced with challenges, the answers always came to me in meditation. However, don’t wait for the challenges to start meditating. Start cultivating that nurturing connection with Spirit today!

Feeling prosperous has little to do with the actual amount of money you have. A millionaire who is anxious and worried about finances isn’t prosperous, while someone living happily in a campground is prosperous. It’s up to you to decide what you want and how much, without being limited by past beliefs. Begin today by creating the feeling of being prosperous. Stand in front of a mirror and open your arms, look directly into your eyes, and enthusiastically tell yourself, “I am a joyful, prosperous person. I am willing to gratefully receive from the Universe.” Yes!

Become A Lake!
Author Unknown

An aging Hindu master grew tired of his apprentice complaining, and so, one morning, sent him for some salt. When the apprentice returned, the master instructed the unhappy young man to put a handful of salt in a glass of water and then to drink it.

"How does it taste?" the master asked.
"Bitter," spit the apprentice.

The master then asked the young man to take another handful of salt and put it in the lake nearby. Once the apprentice swirled his handful of salt in the water, the old man said, "Now drink from the lake."

As the water dripped down the young man's chin, the master asked, "How does it taste?"
"Fresh," remarked the apprentice.

"Do you taste the salt?" asked the master.
"No," said the young man.

At this, the master took the young man's hands, offering, "The pain of life is pure salt; no more, no less. The amount of pain in life remains exactly the same. However, the amount of bitterness we taste depends on the container we put the pain in.

So when you are in pain, the only thing you can do is to enlarge your sense of things...

STOP BEING A GLASS. BECOME A LAKE."

Awakening to Our Osiris Nature
By Dekora

From my journal:

I have been reading Timothy Freke's book The Jesus Mysteries, and although I haven't gotten very far into it at the moment there has been much to get my mind turning, yet again. For one, I am no stranger to the idea that there was more than one saviour/sacrifice/resurrection god floating around, Mithrais for one being an extremely common parallel to the life of Jesus. Freke uses the myths of both Osiris and Dionysus (among others) to claim that this mystery of the virgin birth, sacrifice and resurrection resulting in ascension is not a new thing.

My understanding of Osiris's birth story is a lot different to the virgin birth, but I can go along with the sacrifice, trip to the underworld, resurrection, and subsequent ascension to Heaven. I can take it on a very literal (ie. I believe the original true Osiris was an extra-terrestrial with extraordinary abilities unknown to humankind at the time) level, but I can also see it's value as an ascension mythology.

On top of this, I read a very interesting article online entitled, Winter Solstice: Gift of Illumination. It is a wonderful look at the astrological alignments the Sun goes through after the Winter Solstice which brings it in alignment with the Jesus mysteries, as well as all other pagan god rebirth teachings at this time. I have never seen it described in such a manner, the virgin birth being attributed to the fact that Virgo is the ascendant at the time of the Sun's journey northward being one example.

I have been letting this little article roll around in my mind for a few days, and then today I got into reading more of the Jesus Mysteries. The author contends that the original christians (the gnostics) had adopted many pagan traditions such as the virgin birthed and resurrected saviour as a metaphor for our own spiritual growth and illumination. Unfortunately however, when the traditions were destroyed only the metaphorical stories remained, and the literal christian movement was born, adopting these myths as true accounts of events that actually occurred.

Now, like I said I believe there is both metaphorical and literal truth to be found in these stories. It could be that some of these amazing beings like Osiris and Jesus chose to be born on to the Earth at certain times and lived out certain events during their life that were to act as proof and guidance that we too can ascend just as they. And their real life events got wrapped up in the mythology to add energy and sustenance to it's guidance.

Isis and Nephthys have both been near to me lately. They are in essence, the light and the dark in perfect balance. The way things are being presented to me however is that there needs to be not just a balance between the light (order) and the dark (chaos) but also with non-existance (nothing). The essence from where we all come. To me this is starting to take form in the Tao, but it is not quite complete in my mind. I have not fully grasped this yet, I am still seeking the correct way to put it into words and form, if that is what I am meant to do.

But I do understand it on a deep inner level. I have tossed around the idea that perhaps Ma'at is the third representative here as she is not only a goddess, but the representation of what I also know as the Tao. She is omnipresent, she is the perfect representation of the universe's will, a true reflection of cause and effect, of existanc e and non-existance. Which again, leads me to think I am in the wrong place, she is the will, the law, the way such as the Tao, but she is not nothing.

I need to meditate on this. It could be that nothing has been given no form (appropriately!) in mythology as it has been overlooked as we try to balance the dark and light without taking into account where it all came from. As I said, some meditation on this may show me more... in the meantime I have enough to think on as it is! Freke describes the Jesus Mysteries as being guides, metaphors, proof that we can all ascend into heaven or whatever we want to think we ascend into. I was awakened to an interesting contrast as I did my lotus meditation.

Isis is the light, Nephthys is the dark. Nothing remains to be seen. But the majority of us are seeking enlightenment, or knowledge, to better ourselves through experience in all its form. And I had a revelation on this "oneness" we all seek. I think it is truly oneness with ourselves that we seek. Not with other people, not with other souls, it is with ourselves... this I want to get into more in another entry as I don't want to digress too much. I put it here as a note to self

In the lotus meditation there is a section that reads...

I see everyone as a lotus unfolding,
no matter how closed or covered by mud.
Knowing the destiny of all the children of Isis
is to awaken to their true Osiris nature.

By "children of Isis" I see us, we who are fragmented images, broken into the dark, light and non-existance energies. When we learn to integrate these fragments, we embrace who we truly are and awaken to our true nature, our divine oneness with Self, and as such with God if you will for we become creators in our own right and no longer need to rely on the help of other beings to guide us and co-create with us. We become the Christ consciousness! That is the goal of the Jesus Mysteries according to Freke and I think it is so. And thus the phrase that we are destined to awaken to our "true Osiris nature" begins to make sense.

The Osiris nature is that of Christ consciousness. It is all the same. It is the integration of all fragments of our being where we become one with ourselves again, one with the energies of the Universe that we can now use without effort, and we become truly enlightened. The myth that Osiris was cut into little pieces and then put back together before being resurrected has definitely not passed me by, as this now carries great symbolism to me! I feel truly blessed at this moment that I am starting to see my path, my truth, and that it has washed upon me so calmly and openly. I can only hope that perhaps a single small part of this assists others in their search. And if not, I wish all well in finding your own truth and way.

Thought For The Moment
The Real Truth

We are born with an energy of aliveness and a belief that life is good. Watch a toddler's zest for walking. No matter how many times she falls, she has a dream of being a walker! But over time there can be an erosion of our belief in ourselves. We're born to dream, but as we experience disappointment, we begin to believe more in circumstances than in what's implanted in our own hearts. Think about this: If two people can look at the same situation and hold diametrically opposed views about what that situation means, then the real truth is not in the circumstance, but in the belief.

The Moon Under Her Feet

By Clysta Kinstler

Review:

From Publisher's Weekly - Publishers Weekly
This feminist retelling of the conception, birth, life and death of Christ as narrated by Mary Magdalene may cause some uproar in Christian circles. Yeshua (Christ) is born to Almah Mari (the Virgin Mary) after her union in Sacred Marriage at the Temple in Jerusalem with an unblemished man who kills himself as a sacrifice for his people. Later Mari Anath becomes Magdalene, or High Priestess of the Goddess, and assumes co-rule with Jehovah, succeeding Almah Mari. Mari Anath follows Yeshua in the years of his ministry, despite objections from some adherents who call her harlot because they oppose the double worship of the Goddess and Jehovah and the equality of sexes that relationship im plies. But days before the crucifixion, when Yeshua sacrifices himself, he and the Magdalene are united in Sacred Marriage in the Temple before the people. Mari Anath gives birth to Yeshua's daughter Anna after she and Judas (who is The Christos's twin brother and betrays him at his behest in order to fulfill the prophesy) flee to Gaul to make a new life. First novelist Kinstler, a professor of philosophy, mines the literature of myth to make this lyrically written interpretation plausible. She provides notes and a bibliography to buttress much of her tale.

Reviewer: Bonnie Sue Robertson from United States
I cannot begin to express the impact this book has had on me. I was struggling with my Christian upbringing and wanting to embrace the Goddess, when a wonderfu Witch, author Silver RavenWolf suggested this book to me. Thank you Raven. I didn't want to give up "Jesus," but through this book I came to see that Yeshua/Jesus is as much a part of the Goddess/God myths of so many religions. The story of birth, death and rebirth, so much a part of my Wiccan religion, was played out in this book on multiple levels. Witches and Pagans need not turn from Jesus, as he is a much a Messiah for us as for the entire world, past, present and future. I truely believe that the author has tapped into the Cosmic Consciousness and come up with a "true" version of what happened so long ago. If you would but look at the extensive research done, the books of the effort listed, I think you will find that this book explains the importance of the Goddess in life, as well as the God. Mari and Jesus represent both, as they are the Goddess and God, reincarnated from Isis and Osiris, Inanna and Dumuzi. There is such beauty and passion in this book, and such incredible love. A woman's point of view. A world view to embrace for today and forever!!

Monthly Australian Animal Wisdom
Eagle

By Dekora

Eagle's message is to trust in the Universe and allow it to guide you to that which is best for you. During troubling times in our lives, we sometimes forget that everything that comes into our lives is there for a reason. We forget that the Universe doesn't bring these things into our lives unless we are ready to deal with them.

Sometimes, when things seem at their worst, like they're about to burst and spin out of control, THAT is the time to let go of your attachment to the outcome. In order to receive, we have to let go. We are so focused, holding on so tightly to the "problem" we are unable to see any solutions that come our way. Or we become trapped on the path that we think is the right way, when there may be a better, easier course to take.

Only when we let go, do we open ourselves to a solution coming from the Universe. By letting go of the problem and releasing it to the Universe, we release our investment in the outcome, and allow the Universe to provide us with the best possible path to take in response to the "problem".

Eagle is here to tell us that we are ONE with the Universe. It is in us just as we are in it. We are all the same thing, and it only wants the best for us. "Great Spirit is with you, and is saying 'Step off the cliff and fly with me. Use my wings, I will take you on your journey to the Spirit within. Trust, then you will know THE WAY to wholeness."'

Meditation / Exercise

Take time to look at any "problems" you are experiencing with open eyes. Look clearly at what is going on, ask yourself: Are you willing to let Spirit show you the solution?

An exercise to try, is to take a white candle, a fireproof bowl or cauldron, pen and paper. Sit at a table, and write down one or two major problems you are experiencing right now that you would like to see resolved. It may be physical or health problems, monetary problems, relationship problems, job situations, etc.

Light the candle, and take a moment to focus and meditate on the problems, and see yourself, handing them over to the Universe, God or Goddess, with the intention of letting it/them show you the best solution for the situation/s. Burn the piece of paper, and state out loud that you are handing your problems over to the Universe and your guides, for them to show you the path you need to take.

Once the paper has burned, let the candle burn down. Try and put the problem out of your mind and trust that the Universe will provide you with the solution. Because IT WILL! Follow any instincts you get pertaining to the situation, even if it seems a little outlandish, it just might be the solution you are seeking!
